rancer
Getting a 'clunking' sound when the front nearside wheel goes into a pothole at anything other than crawler speeds. Suspension looks fine so im thinking its a drop link, I vaguely recall having read about this being a problem with the Zeds? Whats the rough costing for a new set of drop links? Is it possible to check visibly? (haven't even tried yet) And I guess when it comes to replacing them then or :pmr35lee: will be the answer? Finally, is it an easy job? The fronts were easy on the Celica but the rears were a right pain!
MrLizard
i changed my own ages ago, broke a spanner on the rear right but only because it was tight, not a difficult job. i got some from z1auto in the states but that might be a bit ott for road use, suspect Alex can help you out. rancer
Cheers - just read up on the Powergrid ones from Z1autos, they are probably more than I require. Once I confirm the drop links are the problem ill see about getting some from here - better than giving Nissan my money

rancer
Cheers Alex - whats the costs? Also, is there an easy way to visually check?
danpollard
Did you find out if this was the problem? I've got similar symptoms and that's all I can think of, but it was recently serviced by Nissan and they'd just ticked the box to say checked and fine. Personally, I'm dubious they did! Mark@Abbey m/s
We have developed our own drop links. We use heavy duty sealed joints. Far better quality than the stock links and more robust against the british weather than some of the aftermarket kts around. If you look in our own Abbey part of this forum you see pictures and prices (I think I have updated the price for 20% VAT)
