glrnet
Guys, been looking at replacing the "yellow" front side lights for some nice bright white ones. What have you guys used? Can I use the LED type, are they any good or will that fail an MOT? Any helpful info gratefully received. I thank you

Do they not need any extra ballasts or anything and do they not last all that long?

Sam Mcgoo
LOTS of threads on this over the last few months........ A few people, including myself, have used these - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/501-le ... e-red.html See here for some pics - viewtopic.php?f=26&t=46693&hilit=sidelight If you get the white ones they will pass the MOT, no ballast needed...just pull the old ones out and push the new ones in. (Well not quite that easy due to access through the wheel arch but you get the idea)

BulletMagnet
Just last week I replaced my broken 4LED sidelights bulbs with another set from eBay seller warden_jp2002 who sells the red LED foglight bulb that many have bought for the rear light cluster clearout mod. 99p for the pair so I got two pairs to make postage worthwhile. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2pcs-501-W5W-Wide ... 1129wt_922 Dave, they are W5W wedge bulbs and are direct replacement for the OEM ones. No additional ballast needed. This is the brightness (old pic, new bulbs are the same brightness)

BulletMagnet
Cheers Sam & BM Oh, and when you put them in first and they don't come on, just flip them round and try again. They are polarity dependant.
Neilp
I bought 5led 360 degree extreme sidelights bulbs from amazon, (Argo city ltd) £6.50ish a set delivered. Done the number plates and they look fantastic, still to do the sidelights. Well worth the cash!
