Peter10
I spent a few hours today sorting out my iPod stereo mod. All went pretty well, took a bit longer to get it out but got there in the end. I soldered up the wires no issues there. SO I put the stereo back in the car, wired it up and reconnected the battery. Now this is where the issue lies... Turn the ignition on, radio starts up. Lost all my radio settings but I knew that would happen. The issue I have is that none of the buttons on the stereo now work except the volume knob. The stereo controls on the steering wheel don't work except the volume again... I can't choose CD, tape or radio. I can't tune the radio at all (but it was working as it played some god awful gangster rap station). The iPod mod is working though, but at the loss of everything else. I'm sure I reconnected all the wires in the stereo but it was getting dark by then so I was working in dim light. Any ideas what may have happened here? sparky370z
When u did the mod, did u cut the tracks on the pcb? Perhaps you have cut one too many. Also there might be a small amount of solder touching the tracks. You might have to take it out and test it.
Peter10
What do you mean cut the tracks? I'm not much for electrical stuff, mechanical work doesn't usually phase me but this isn't my forte. I followed this viewtopic.php?f=9&t=29312&hilit=alexz&start=75 start to finish. It may be possible solder is has managed to get into places but I took my time and made sure it was clean. I won't be able to rip it out now until Monday as I am at work on Saturday and at Twickenham Sunday. Thanks for the reply.
Zugara
What you have done i think is you have pushed the selector buttons , tape, radio,cd under the facia plate. Get a small knife and inserst between the buttons and facia plate to release the buttons, one button will be holding down not alowing you to select anything. I speak from experience

I didn't notice until I took the trim cover off again and saw what you said. Mod all done, works great. I routed it into the bluetooth cubby to keep the wires hidden .
