david 164 Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 hi all,well after doing stock car racing since i was 16,have decided to pack up and get myself a nice road car,im 46 now,gotta take things easy lol,had a scooby sti with prodrive about 3 years ago,sold it with 7000 miles on the clock,was mint,but evryone wanted to race me,and trust me it used to scare the mrs,also had a sapphire cossie a few years ago,lookin for a nice zed,but its proving a bit difficult,will persevere tho,and hopefully learn a few things from you guys Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Peter10 Posted March 9, 2011 Share Posted March 9, 2011 People will want to race you in a zed but you don't feel compelled to do so like you would in a car which is more race-car looking (in my opinion anyway). What sort of budget do you have and do you have any specific model you are after or specific colour? There is a good market these cars at the moment and you can afford to be really picky. I wanted a specific colour and there were a few of them around at the time. Black and gun metal seem to be the most common when looking. david 164 Posted March 9, 2011 Author Share Posted March 9, 2011 oh and i will add,when the roadsters first came out,i had some money and bought one,a gunmetal gt,brand new,anyway i took it for a long drive,the second day i had it,lovely sunny day,did over hundred miles,when i got home,noticed when i put it in reverse it made a terrible clanging noise,sounded like the clutch or flywheel,took it to dealer,chief mechanic agreed it wasnt right,they said they would look into it,another mechanic said some of them did this,so i thought im not paying £32k for a car that isnt right,so they had it back,but i still love them,and obviously not gona be spending so much money this time,has anyone else had problems like i had?????
