evilscorp
Just on to vent sum anger, got my renewal pack in today only to see Make; Honda, Model; Prelude, Year; 2003? Changed my private plate over and some how changed my car back to my old honda which has been gone for over a year! When I phoned up to say that they had make a mistake I was transfered offshore to someone who didnt understand what the problem was when I asked to speak to the manager, he said he had changed my policy and corrected the mistake but would cost me £250 more!!! Which to my reply was no! I dont want that, let me speak to your manager and ended up on hold 4times then I hung up. Phoned a different dept, asking to speak to the canadian who set my account up in the first place, didnt get her but some other friendly girl who listened then spoke to her manager and said we didnt even need to check the phone call I had with the original canadian they just checked the online quote and said the charges would be droped. It payes to phone multiple people if ur not happy with ur insurer(elephant for me). Unfortanatly the how are we doing form only lets you put in one performance apraisial, as I would have two at opposite ends of the scale! Rant over. Now to remove the centre console to change my reversing camera to a front mounted bumper cam, incase small kerbs come to close.
Ricey
Offshore is alright provided whatever you need can be dealt with via a script and a nice easy generic conversation. Anything outside of the box and you've had your chips.
evilscorp
Also to add to my rant, people should not install electrical equipment half assed! Just spent an hour removing excess speaker cables and a reverse camera, found a mass of cables behind the monitor the old jap satnav dvd cables are all still there but the screen is different so no use to me! Not sure but does anyone know if the JDM models had an incar charger for phones built in??? As it looks like i had one hid under my transmition covering. I remember when I worked in a garage on Saturdays as a teenager to make some pocket money, nothing special but did learn how to service a car properly and do basic mechanical repairs. One day we had a guy come in and say that he wired in a new stereo a few weeks before and it had started to go funny. Thinking it was probably a dodgy connection one of the guys pulled it out to find it had been wired in by getting the copper wires and simply twisting them into the other wire then wrapped in sellotape . Husky
it had been wired in by getting the copper wires and simply twisting them into the other wire then wrapped in sellotape . Oh you just wish that didn't happen on these cars.... Sadly some people who produce things for 350z's think it's ok to wire things up this way. I spend far too much time on other owners cars with a soldering iron fixing these "attempts" for them
evilscorp
Fortunately it was spade connectors the previous owner used on mine but think ive found a subwoofer cable that goes down the passenger side of the car, but doesnt come out at the head unit guess that side of the interior will be coming out too at sum point. twisting wires and celotape sounds like a fireball waiting to happen lol. As a teenage lad I often worked at a nearby garage (Hi Nick ) that specialised in tuning and racing 1600cc single-seaters. He did quite a lot of prep work for all sorts of people. One day a guy came in with a Caterham he had bought second hand with a simple Ford engine in it to which he had decided to fit a turbo. The pipework was generally ok in quality except he had connected up the engine exhaust to spin the turbo and the post-spin output to the air intake input of the turbo (if you see what I mean). Basically a completely closed system, and he genuinely wondered why it wouldn't start (until Nick told him with some ripe language)
