Keviswatt
Hey Recent Newbie to the Z, one problem i have found is that the headlights seem very poor, especially on dip ..is this a problem? any easy adjustment? ... or, do the xenons fade/need replaced? cheers in advance Kev
Bendrews
Hi Kev, i got this problem too but i think i have read somewhere on here that the lights automatically adjust ?! someone please correct me if im wrong? try search in the top right usually find some jems in there
austin
All xenon headlights must have auto leveling mechanism, thats to prevent much stronger glare with wrong angle setting (thats why if it was up to me I would made all cars with cheap aftermarket bullshit HID kits illegal). That said, apparently there is a way to adjust the angle manually. To be honest I have exactly the same feeling, a bit disappointed with mine, i think it might be the design of the headlight that is responsible. Facelift zeds' lights improved quite a bit aus
JetSet
Yeah, lighting is a weak point, they are just about adequate really. Facelift lights are better, but not by much. Pete
Keviswatt
Hmmm, just gonna have to get used to them then! I have heard aftermarket kits will now fail an MOT! Cheers for the reply Kev
austin
I have heard aftermarket kits will now fail an MOT! Kev Ugh, just like de-cats fail MOT. It won't stop people from changing them back to normal for once-in-a-year test
BulletMagnet
There is an adjuster wheel you can adjust with a very long Phillips screwdriver, look in the guides section

cesc
Bit of an odd one, but does anyone have a picture of their light output. i.e. a nighttime pic with the headlights on? My beam pattern seems to be a bit all over the place. Everyone always complained about the xenons on the Zed but now that I have mine they seem perfectly adequate, not as good as my RX8 but certainly not terrible like my old S3. BulletMagnet
When I first got my Zed, the lights were terrible. Couldn't really see ahead of me, only a couple of feet at the most. Then found out about the adjuster and raised the beam, been great ever since. Here's the guide on how it's done http://www.hypersprite.com/auto/tech-z-003/index.asp
Peter10
Strange my headlights are great compared to my old car. I could actually see where I was going down the A3 the other night .
