popeacute Posted March 2, 2011 Share Posted March 2, 2011 Hi all, my name is jp, i have been lurking on the forums here for a while but not posting just reading. trying to get knowledge'd up on the zed. traveling from belfast to hampshire to pick it up. It was a bargin. but obviously when i get there i wont be parting with the cash until i have done my check's. but the guy seems genuine enough and hasnt given any reason to distrust him. but we will see. it's and orange one full gt pack '03 low mileage. i will be sad to see my current car go mr2 turbo, had 3 of them ove rthe last 5 years. do most of the servicing and modifying myself. quick car for sure. but soemthing about the zed has lured me away from the 2. if the deal is all good i'll be posting some pics up, and will be going shopping to get some of the basic mods. plenum spacer, intake, cat back system. fingers crossed. jp Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

popeacute Posted March 3, 2011 Author Share Posted March 3, 2011 Cheers for the welcome guys, i appreciate it. i've been a member of the mr2oc for a while , and i try to make as many outings as possible for drives up the antrim coast and bbq's, nights out, dyno days. It's a really good forum for everything mr2, lots of how to guides, and a wealth of knowledge on fixing/modding your car. and i believe this forum is just as good and if i own one by the weekend i will be making a donation to the site, as i work in IT and i know this all costs money to run, also im used to paying a yearly membership on the mr2oc. popeacute Posted March 3, 2011 Author Share Posted March 3, 2011 is there any other advice regarding z's that i should know about when checking the car over? i know the rays alloys are bubbling a bit and need redone(common issue i think) so thats fine by me. so far i have: check for mayo in oil cap check tyres check disc's&pads shopping trolly dents rusting edges? underneath too stone chipping Rear axle clicking noise, moving off or from reverse to forward. cd player skipping(usual fault i've read) Tailgate trying to eat you but is there stuff like, 3 sets of keys, cd for the sat nav, or other stuff like that i should be aware off? cheers guys Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
