tprice
Trying to get hold of some 18s this week so I can fit them on saturday. They are currently fitted with 225/45/18 front and 245/45/18 rear. Now my question is, will these sizes be fine and stop the damn SLIP light coming on constantly? I am currently running 225/50/17s all round which I have been told is the problem.
350 Russ
that size will be fine
DoogyRev
Those new sizes are exactly what I am running...... and 90% of every other 350 so you should be fine and will sort your problem
tprice
surely the rolling radius will be diffierent as the rears are larger? or is that how the 350 tcs operates? i trust your advice im just curious to understand why
Ekona
The Zed expects to see a certain rolling radius, and as you're discovering now when it doesn't see that it throws a hissy fit (correctly). You'll be fine with the new wheels and tyres, assuming the tyres are the same type
350 Russ
its only the widths that are wider, the rolling radius will still be the same as both the front and back are 45 tyres
DoogyRev
I cant comment on the tyre sizes for 17", but 18" is what the manual says... front - 225/45R18 rear - 245/45R18 What wheels have you gone for? Rays?
JetSet
surely the rolling radius will be diffierent as the rears are larger? or is that how the 350 tcs operates? Yes, The rolling radius for the Zed is designed like that. Many other performance cars also have staggered tyre sizes. The figure is roughly 3% bigger rolling radius at the back than the front for the 350Z, so for example 245/35 and 275/35 would be ideal for 19 inch wheels Pete
tprice
yeah looking for the 18s they fit as standard to the 350Zs so contact me if you know of any
Ekona
its only the widths that are wider, the rolling radius will still be the same as both the front and back are 45 tyres Nope, 45 refers to a percentage of the width so a 225/45/18 tyre has a thinner sidewall than a 245/45/18.
