goldtopdanal
Hi, According to the owners manual, replacing the rear indicator bulbs (LED's) is a dealer only job.... does anyone have any experience of this? I am quite surprised that one of them has blown already as I thought LED's were supposed to last longer and the car is a 2006. Thanks, Dan
buster
I was un aware that led bulbs were fitted.i was under the impression that they are T20 bulbs. If so its a simply enough job. Remove which ever rear lamp unit above the blow indicator unit. This is a case of removing 3 screw and gently prizing the unit away.Once removed access can be obtained.Twist the bulb holder on the back of the unit in the bumper and replace bulb as required. Hope this helps
Zugara
Doubt you have leds fella. Its a tight squeeze to get your hand in to undo the bulb holder as well. If you dont have leds and fit one, the resistance becomes less and the bulbs will flash faster when you indicate. If you look through the indicator lens you will see if you have an led fitted. goldtopdanal
Cheers guys, I haven't seen that they are LED's for myself but that's what it says in the owner manual - will have a look tomorrow. How do I get at them anyway? from the same panel as for the main light cluster?
Zugara
take off the plastic covers on the rear lights, to reveal some hex head screws. 10m socket required. Gently pull the light cluster towards the side of the car, Ie away from the boot. Dont twist or force the cluster, there are 2 plastic posts at the bottom of the light clusted that snap easy. Once off, there will be a hole big enough to get your hand into and reach the indicator cluster, its a tight fit, unless you got small hands. Good luck. goldtopdanal
Just for info, I ordered the part from Nissan and it is indeed an LED strip. Pretty easy to fit really especially compared to the highlights on a ford KA! Argh! for my 56 plate the part number was 2626189962. Cheers for the help!
