Ebized
its okay mate its a nice car and as you say its nice from the road but for that money i think id prefer to one that doesnt need tidying up lol. i have found another gt that im going to look at next week if i can see what you think: http://www.redlinespecialistcars.co.uk/car.php?id=1169 Not sure you have fully appreacited the views on here about the price of that Ultra Yellow GT4. It has the Nismo kit fitted (about £2.5k as an option when fitted new) and given the relative rarity (just 76 in UY out of a total of 176 made for the UK market) the price is a steal, if the car checks out OK. And remember it has the uprated engine 296bhp engine and a distinctive plate always helps. I expect many current UY GT4 owners are feeling a bit depressed to see that car at that price And in comparison a year older model you are now looking at £10k which I would say is over-priced, I know what I would be looking at. And it is definitely an import with no rear spoiler - who knows, it may been in a shunt with replacement front and rear bumpers With local members offering to give the GT4 the once over you might wish to think again, albeit your initial instincts were not favourable. JetSet
see i new it was a good idea asking on here i didnt even notice the lack of light washers and steering controls thanks.as you say it now seems abit dodgy lol is there anything else i should look at when buying? Nothing wrong with imports, plenty here have them but they do come with a variety of specifications. Normally they can be spotted by the square number plate at the back although you do see the odd one with a U.K bumper. Specs on U.K cars are fairly easy to spot, I always look at the steering wheel, 6 buttons means its a GT, 3 buttons a non GT, and there are very few Nissan options other than trim, colours, SatNav, spats, maybe a couple more? plenty of aftermarket ones though . If your budget is around 11k then you're looking at a 54/05 possibly 55 reg'd vehicle. The Zed was given a facelift and a bit more power for 2006 and these tend to cost a bit more. 55 and earlier models do come in the cheaper road tax bracket though . Look out for the service history, very important that the work has been done on schedule, a car with 50k should have had 5 services minimum, walk if the book has been "lost". The car also has a few minor issues, the bose CD skips tracks when cold, the gear change from first to second is clunky when cold, the back axle clicks now and again especially if its been standing for a few days and as you've already noticed the seats do start wearing after a few years. From a personal point of view I'd also avoid one that had a mountain of previous owners. Other than that, just the normal things you'd look at on any car. Some dealers tend to throw on cheapo tyres so take a quick peek at what's on the car. The 350Z though is a very sturdy car that provided its been well cared for will last for many years, take your time, the right one will come up soon enough Pete
JetSet
hey dont know the car personally but i drive past it everday really. ive had a look at it only a quick look mind, seems ok on the surface but it has been there for a long time!! and the ppl who run that place are very dodgy and possibly abit interbread.. lol rented a few vans from them to move house etc and they are very unhelpful and tryied to sting us for damage that was so old it had rusted! i would get a full aa or rac check on it my self. just to be safe. good luck I've never had any dealings with them, but they've been there since at least 1970. I'll take your word that its been there for ages, maybe I was distracted by the Ferrari they had up for sale Pete
Ricey
Its been there a fair while but given that the economy is fecked I'm not surprised at anything like that hanging around in honesty. The fact that its bright Yellow will also restrict the number of purchasers. This whole business about 'dodgy dealers'...whilst I appreciate there are some real sharks out there I doubt there are dealers who actually go out just to find gash cars. The difference is the service really - your just as likely to find a dog Zed at a Nissan garage as you are in Joe Bloggs Car Emporium. Mostyn Garage is your typical small enterprise who've got a decent sized forecourt, usually have a fairly decent selection of sports cars and probably got a couple of mechs working in the garage at the back. He prob wont budge on price as its just been reduced so he's sticking to his guns. Unless they've got a fairly decent money laundering operation on the go I'd hazard a guess they're quite successful given the types of cars they sell (having a Ferrari and various Porsches on the forecourt is no small amount of money to tie up in stock). I'd just do what you would normally do when buying a car (whomever you get it from).........check it thoroughly and make sure your happy with it. If not walk. I'm literally down the road from it if you want me to take a closer peek? EDIT - Also you'll be surprised just how good you can get the leather looking with a bit of Gliptone cleaner and conditioner. Might not even need a repair.

lukeaJones
There was more things than just the leather and it wasn't just worn it was scratched quite badly and the dash around the cd player was scratched aswell. The button to change the mpg dial was intermittent and the reset didn't work. The bonnet didn't open and one corner of the front bumper was loose for some reason. I have decided on a different one that I'm goin to pick up on Saturday it's a grey GT :-)
