Chan267
Hello I just got my plenum spacer from motordyne installed and my seibon carbon bonnet sits abit higher than usual. Has anyone had the same problem and how do people solve it? Has anyone removed the oem strut brace at the front and noticed a big difference? Any help or advice would be great
DoogyRev
I think you need to put spacers on the Strut Brace so it clears with the plenum installed
Zugara
You should have washers to go under the brace to raise it up a bit giving the clearance you need.
ZMANALEX
You should not run without the strut brace, if that is what you are asking. Also what size of spacer did you fit? Alex
Ian
The bonnet sits higher? I had to cut a part of my seibon bonnet to fit over the stock & cusco braces when installed with a spacer
Chan267
I fitted a 5/16 motordyne spacer that I brought from abbey motorsport. There is washers fitted with the new screws supplied with this spacer. My problem is because the strut brace is sitting higher than usual, it is a tight fit when the bonnet is closed. This causes either side of my bonnet to not line up as well as it did before. It is a seibon carbon bonnet and here are some photos of what I am talking about. Ian, I think shaving the underside of the bonnet is an opition I need to consider. Would getting an aftermarket strut brace work instead? The front sits prefectly though
ZMANALEX
Try removing the spacers that you fitted to the strut bar as you may not require them.
