philb1965
Been let down by HKS, their MD has stopped the lads fitting my exhaust due to insurance issues....great! Felt sorry for Nathan who had to give me the good news! So, who do I get to fit it? There's an independent tyre/exhaust place who have said they'll do it for £45 an hour. Or do I take it to a specialist car place like CS or GGR if they'll do it? Only hassle will be getting my old exhaust back home if I go to CS or Graham Goode. Can anyone recommend anyone Kettering area to use?
Ekona
Any numpty can fit an exhaust, go somewhere local with a good rep.

The existing exhaust all fits in the 370 with no problems (been there and done it) - just suggest you take some big strong plastic bags to put the sections in and old sheets etc to protect your trim
philb1965
Blimey...haven't been called a numpty for hours! I'm no mechanical muppet, I restored an MGC a few years ago but got rid of axle stands. I really can't be bothered struggling with siezed nuts in this cold weather I don't have the gear to do it tbh. Local place is looking favourite as it's not rocket science. Just wondered if anyone can recommend anyone local.

chippy
Nuts should be easy enough, not like the car's years old. Mine came off easy enough with a bit of WD40, but not sure that was even needed. To be honest it shouldnt take them more than an hour or so to fit it, so given the choice of paying £60 or freezing your nuts off outside for a few hours, I know which one I'd choose! Chris`I
Should be very easy for some competant mechanic to do. Comes off easy as the car is new and the old one will fit in the boot with some protection from MF cloths and placcy bags. Shouldnt cost you more than 50 quid for someone to do it, thats all I paid
BulletMagnet
I'm still wondering that HKS, a manufacturer of aftermarket parts, does not have insurance to fit their own items...
rtbiscuit
I'm still wondering that HKS, a manufacturer of aftermarket parts, does not have insurance to fit their own items... it will be the UK sponsored distributor; and if they are just that ( a distributor) they won't be covered for mechanical fitting etc.

They have a 4 post lift and all the tools for manufacture as they do a bit of developement there. Nathan even told the MD he'd come in and do it in his own time but a big no due to insurance. Biggest pain for me is I could have got it done when I was off over Xmas. Never mind.
rtbiscuit
at least their heart was in the right place. it was a nice offer and one that not a lot of places would do.
