Kenwood ddx5022 connecting to ipod problem

Hi all, just wandering if anyone can hazzard a guess as to whats all of a sudden happened to either the head unit or the ipod (more ipod i imagine) basically, plug it into the the HU and it says reading and then goes to the normal screen with play, skip etc on it but it wont do anything after that.

 

so the head unit recognises its there and will play if i press play on the ipod itself first then plug it in, but i cant control the ipod once its plugged in as the ipod goes to the 'connected to accessory' screen and the HU refuses to do anything so im very confused as its worked all day up until the last 2 attempts which is conviniently just after i had it plugged into the pc and updated some music on it.

 

so anyone got any ideas whats happened as google just comes up with ones for sale .

Try unplugging it,then select a different source on your headunit,plug your iPod back in then select iPod as your source.

 

This happened to me last week but mine is Alpine,it's worth a try.

Tried that still didnt work even put a cd in and tried selecting that and then the ipod will have to have a proper play again tomorrow when its light and i can see what the buttons do .

Iv got a similar problem with my Kenwood DPX 503U when i plug in the iPhone it recognises the phone but only plays the first track and wont let me change it

i have reset the ipod and it didnt seem to work this morning, however once i unplugged it and selected and album it seemed to work, i just dont think it worked when it was set to all songs.
