Recommended Posts

hi all,

my name is jamie, i currently own a pretty high spec toyota celica gt4, probably gonna try swap it for a 350z as would like something a bit newer and a bit more standard (at least mechanically anyway)

heres a couple of pics of the gt4:

anyway couple of questions for you guys cos i know what im like and although i said i would keep it fairly standard il prob get the power bug sooner or later!!

what sort of power can these cars take when boosted without out going forged pistons etc?

are the gearboxes/diffs/driveshaft good for high power?

p.s. love this z:

Cheers

JM

The general consensus power wise is 400/400 but it's torque that kills the motor.

It's still going to cost mega money to get to that level though.

Nice looking Celica!

cheers for the compliments on the car guys! needs some more mapping then will be going on the rolers, should be 450-500 bhp.

so what normally fails past the 400 mark then? what are the weakpoints?

Cheers

Pistons and rods tend to go above 400 bhp.

If you do intend going FI and forging the engine be prepared to spend an additional 20K to get there

20k seems allot!

superchargwer kit £4kish ?

a decent engine build on most jap cars ive ever owned has always been about 4-6k including parts?

clutch 1k?

am i missing something or is there something particular about the z that makes it so much?

Cheers
