Zugara
Try the controller first?
chippy
Apparently you don't need a throttle controller with a tune

chippy
well I guess the throttle controller only sharpens up the throttle response and gives 100% throttle in the lower gears, whereas a tune will make any other goodies - intake, exhaust, plenum etc work sweeter? gazhull8474
Think I will wait for the uprev to be done then try and get a drive in a car which has the throttle controller fitted and not an uprev done to see if I need both
Stew
well I guess the throttle controller only sharpens up the throttle response and gives 100% throttle in the lower gears Correct with the first bit, the second bit is untrue. It only sharpens throttle response, it won't give 100% WOT. The throttle controller is for making the accelerator super sensitive, it doesn't add power. It's not a substitute for an UpRev. gazhull8474
Stew would you say I would need to have one after the uprev and is there much difference after an uprev has been done
spursmaddave
The Throttle Controller is a cheap thrill not the real deal All it does is make the throttle as sensitive or dull as you want by turning it up or down, the upRev is a tune. I have my D1 for now but when you have an upRev the throttle controller is apparently not required.... but I am tempted to try it once I do have a map

DoogyRev
If you have the uprev to get more power and tune your car...... does having a throttle controller mean that you can "economise or not" that power?

I have asked the same thing ZManAlex used both both When I get an upRev after Christmas I will give it a try....

M9O OEY
Another good thing about the throttle controller is in wet/icy/snowy conditions you can set the controller to Eco7 and the car is a lot safer but it's like driving a 1.1 diesel

gazhull8474
Well I'm booked in with abbey so will be looking out for someone with a throttler fitted to take me for a spin to see how much difference there is between the uprev and just a controller fitted or having both done
Stew
There are a few people with both done as far as I know. With the Uprev you'll gwet the best tune, if you still crave the mental sensitive throttle then adding a throttle controller would work I think.
