Currently my car is in the SVA ballast by-pass mode and the low beam is awful. Cheers Al

greasemonkey1234
I have the JDM ballasts so I was going to wire those back in at the weekend. I just didn't know whether anyone else has done this and as a result improved head light brightness
P15UL T
Depending on how the company undid the ballast and bulb set up you may need hid bulbs as they probably would have put halogen ones in Do you still have the power packs or have they removed them ? I have some in stock if you need them Cheers paul
greasemonkey1234
Hi Paul, The ballasts are still intact but they have put it halogen H7 bulbs, but these seem very naff. I was considering re-wiring the HIDs back in for a bit mre brightness but still keeping legal. Would this help?
P15UL T
I doubt the halogen bulb could take the extra power that the powerpack will give it. Could always try but I've never heard of anyone doing it that way. Best to buy some hid bulbs and do it properly
greasemonkey1234
Sorry yeah thats what I thought. I was going to buy some HID bulbs
Neilp
the lamps work in 2 totally different ways, the xenon hid lamp works with an arc(like lightning) hence the need for the ballast... the normal lamp is a filament lamp which lights due to resistance. The ballast will probs blow the lamp to bits as the current rating on the hid is very low but the voltage very high
