Quick answer needed re- Oil Level

Sound like were are saying the same thing then

 

1. Check you oil regularly

2. Note what your oil pressure is at certain speeds (in the same gear on the same gradient)..... if it differs... revisit point 1.

When engine oil temperature is low, engine oil pressure becomes high

 

At Idle speed oil pressure should be more than 14 psi

At 2,000 revs oil pressure should be more than 43 psi

 

[measured with the engine oil temperature at 80°C (176°F) i.e. warm engine]

 

Cool some good info there.

 

So whats regarded as a recommended max psi then?

After letting it settle, oil level seems good now, needed a bit over a litre of oil put in it (7500miles after last service). Took it for a run and the pressure seemed good

no one knows AFAIK but I'd worry if it went off the scale when cold or stayed much above 60psi at 60 mph in 6th gear when warmed up ..... Zmanalex is the man to consult or Tim from Opie Oils
