Dont forget you can use all the old Cannon lenses too (film ones) the focal length will be different to what it says on the side normally 1.5x the power but they will be cheap as chips! Worth a try
Zedrush
People pleople why are you focusing (no pun intended) on the video capabilities of the camera - an SLR camera has to be good at taking static pictures first above anything else the HD video is just a gimmic, you will always get better results with a camcorder for video , although its nice to have both in the same unit I agree. : Sorry mate but have to disagree I use to own a canon xh-a1 and had a sony ex3. The canon 7d and 550d for price and quality you can't beat, better than anything I ever did with the xh-a1 and comparable to ex3, even the cameras at 10-15k are comparable with the canon 550 and 7d. The added bonus that you dont need dof adapter too this camera for video is incredible. Hence why Gorillaz music video and the likes of Quentin Tarantino is using 7d, 5d mark II and 550d for video. They take good stills and unbelievable video they even compared them to the 200k cameras and the difference wasnt huge. stanski
Hey mate your talking to someone who likes Bakellite and old valve radios! I've got my dads old 1957 Voigtlander Rangefinder camera and its still better than most new tin - yes its film not digi but quality is quality.. But yes I agree its nice to have both and thats partly why I will get the Pentax K-7 once the price drops a bit more I know its not Cannon or Nikon standard but you get a lot for the money. I just like my stuff seperate really but then again I use my bleeding wonderphone for pictures and videos (just as its always to hand!)
