Im looking for advice on going for a stealth install on my ICE.

I don't want to go OTT, just a decent sound.

My HU is knackered... as is my sub and/or amp...

So, has anyone fitted a totally stealth setup?

No external mods.

Sub in the same place,

amp still hidden,

HU not to ott,

Bluetooth and steering wheel controls still working...

Anyone?

If you don't want to go mad money wise like me I got a decent HU, Pioneer F900bt for £700, then new speakers front and rear, JL amp situated underneath the passenger seat cubby and using the existing Bose sub which I may replace in time but is good enough for now. So apart from the HU you wouldn't know anything else wasn't standard until you listen to it :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

All in all it's cost me about £1,500 including professional fitting but I got a very good deal on the speakers as they are 2nd hand

SpursMadDave & yokomo ... you are spot on, no need for pics' as they are totally stealth!

Any chance of some specs? and how hard it was to say replace the standard sub and get a decent sound from it?

Shaun1982... nice install... but I wanted to use my boot as well ;)

So all I really want to do is upgrade what is there and get a decent sound. :)

specs on mine..

jvx avx820 with laptop hdd and av connections in cubby :)

alpine mrp 400 amp under glove box (you can even open the glove boxn still not see it)

vibe space 8 behind the bose grille :)

sounds pretty decent although not really enough bass from 8 but not bad overall sound considering its still sing the bose amp for main sound.

best stealth instal ive seen/heard is Rob/H5 the only visble bit is the sub in th eboot and mean I only the sub as the instlal has avery clever use of boot space for the box , tweeters are hidden , amps hidden great instal.

You can use the boot. Well sort of lol. The front half is useable & you have a nice helpful shelf at the rear of the strut brace :)

Ive got an uncut custom box that fits the Bose space dude

ooohhh... you make that yourself?

I haven't taken any trim off yet. So I have no idea what kind of space there is with the standard sub.

Presuming im not going to fit a W7 in there?

Thanks everyone!

Lots to think about. I think I need to find out what the best 8" sub I can lay my hands on is ....

Then start doing research into Head Units.... Cheers! :)

(Oh, and also try to get hold of Rob/H5!)

You called?! :D

JL Audio 8W7 is the answer to your question.

Alpine for head units.

My sealth install, I will post a link to a thread in a minute. I haven't got any pictures of the trophies
