The Hoff
Got myself a Defi HUD unit but not sure how to connect it in to the car to get the readings. It works fine on the bench and I and feed in a square ware of different frequencies to make the speed and RPM move so the unit is fine. From research I have found that the RPM signal from the Z is the tricky one as its on the CAN bus so the Defi control unit V2 is required (which I dont haev and dont want to buy if I can help it). I have been considering taking the crank sensor and putting through DIY electronic gadgetry to tune the HUD but not sure if this would even work. What about the speed signal though, back of the clocks? Any help welcomed. Hoff
marzman
Dont know about the revs, but the speed you need the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) wire. Now, the VSS wire is found on the middle plug (grey - M49), and is pin 26 - which if you're looking down on it is the top row, 3rd hole from the left. My wire was brown with a white stripe. I found the wiring info in this document - on page 47: http://www.myzroadster.com/files/2006%2 ... al/atc.pdf viewtopic.php?f=35&t=18962
