agentdarkshadow
not always got time to clean car so was just wondering if any of you zed owners can recommend a good hand car wash in watford/herts area? Personally my choice at hte moment is the one at homebase in watford. East europeans but do a pretty good job for £5.95.
dyla350z
Had mine done yesterday, they put 2 scratches in it,does not matter how good they are, there sponges are full of grit, they make there money on volume & dont have time for cleaning sponges,i knew this before i took it there, yes im stupid more work for tim at envy next month
Stew
I'd rather the car went unwashed than hand it to someone else (other than a pro detailer) to do.
Zugara
TBH, i would rather let my zed get dirty than allow one of those monkeys touch it. I did witness a few months ago, and Audi R8 in a Sainsburys car wash being scrubbed with a broom on the bonnet. But i suppose if you can afford an R8 you can afford the respray IMO, DIY is the only way as and when you get time, cos getting a scratch will cause you more agro in the long run
LRF4N
the brooms in car washes are usually made of microfibre bristles, designed for caravans etc and actually quite kind to ur paintwork...... the plastic handle in the hands of a worker wont be tho lol
Vik54
I'd rather the car went unwashed than hand it to someone else (other than a pro detailer) to do. +1 Though I do sometimes go to a local touchless snow foam place that guarantees low alkaline content just to get the first layer of filith off - but only if I'm going to do a full two bucket, clay and protection after
JAMIE MOY
There is one in Dundee on the Kingsway advertising that they don't physically touch the car as they only use a HP gun.... Don't know what they are like as I would never let them touch my car......
rawbhp
To answer the OP's question.... There is a good one in Northwood next to the golf club, and another in Apsley that always has a queue. Only ever used them for my wife's car though.
M13KYF
dont think a hand car wash place would know what car detailing is which is where this thread has been posted
goatboy
Apsley one seems to be OK, they use wash mitts rather than sponges but they don't do a great job of keeping them washed out from the one time the mrs took her car there... Edit: Just realised how old this thread was
