fov
Hi, Im looking at buying a 350z but I live in a house with a (very) steep driveway. I was wondering if anyone could measure standard ground clearance at the very front and the distance between the very front and the wheel middle? Its just there is no point getting to hopefull if it wont go up the drive! Cheers
Stew
Go to a garage and test drive one. Take it to your house. Done!
UNABASHED
just reverse up the drive?
Stew
just reverse up the drive? Then the front scrapes on the road instead of the drive! You'll have to try it I think to be sure.

andlid
you should be ok if it's a RWD... don't fecking try it with a Volvo S60! FAIL FAIL! Think STEW had the best option there , maybe not tell them that you want to see if it can get up your drive without scraping the bumper
Sarnie
Move house? Just remember to take into account that you are very unlikely to get up a very steep drive when the frost/ice/snow comes......
Walbertonio
Definitely get one local to test drive to your house. Was a concern for me, and sure enough it did ground out trying to get into the garage. However, had garage modified, so could probably get anything in there now! Wasso
For sure don't drive forward down the slope, reverse only. Reason being is that I have a slightly awkward driveway, if I drive off forwards I scrape, drive off backwards and there are no issues in the slightest.... Can't tell you why, but I'm sure it's to do with the overhang difference between the front and the rear?
geoff-r
My drive is steep and my car is fine, unless I hammer it off the drive and it will ground out, but in fairness I creep so slowly off the drive now.
fov
id love to be able to try it from a dealer but the nearest one at a dealer is just short of 50 miles away. Dont think they would be too happy with me taking one that long. I have a Civic Type R at the mo which is pretty low and providing you get the right angle it gets away with it but wrong angle and the plastic lip under the bumper catches. Quite aware of the snow issue. Fell out with the neighbors last winter with a car abandoned infront of their house round the corner, not that it worries me.
