LRF4N Posted October 2, 2010 Share Posted October 2, 2010 took my wife away last weekend on a wee driving holiday to the highlands and islands. got great weather, some cracking scenery and goo to get away for a few days. covered 850 miles in 3 and a bit days so most of the time was spent driving. wasnt planning on going that far away but after posting on here for suggestions colin and stew persuaded me to head for the north coast to try the best hot chocolate in the world. my quest was to no avail cos we didnt find the place lol but if they hadnt mentioned it we wouldnt have got as far as we did and seen some of the best scenery in the country if not the world didnt see any zeds on the trip dont think theyre built for the northern climate lol but did see a mclaren f1..... and an aston rapide on the way home also seen a decapitated deer with a van parked across from it.... im sure his head was destined for the drivers living room wall lol as some of u know i have a new found love for photography and i know how much u guys love pics so here we go hired a car for the trip cos didnt wanna add on too many miles to the zed, wasnt sure how much the bumper would like the ferry, all the photos woulda been of the zed lol so we took this merc- 200 cdi sport with some toys, i loved it esp the colour 1st stop was inveraray, nice wee part of the country the view from our window our alarm clock next stop was fort william, some pics of the journey there mallaig where we got the ferry across to skye the view from the back of the hotel in skye the next day we went back on the mainland via skye bridge and north to durness. looking across to skye: looking down onto loch alsh Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

LRF4N Posted October 2, 2010 Author Share Posted October 2, 2010 along the journey to durness these inconsiderate baaaas**rds held us up on the way..... apologies to any aberdonians who may get excited from this view the north coast...... wee pic of the beach at durness and on to thurso, the most northern town in the mainland, nice wee place, great view esp cos of the weather orkney was visible in the distance oh flower of scotland......... and along the east coast..... totally different from the west dunrobin castle loch ness, nessie was nowhere to be seen the ruins of urquart castle and our hotel in dingwall (sorry if ur sick of seeing castles lol) tulloch castle the view from the car park Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
