pptom
For Sale are my silenced decat pipes, unbranded but I belive these are the very same units as sold by Japspeed and Megan Racing in the States. I'll include the 4 required gaskets and all nuts and bolts. These have only done approx 15 miles on my car since new, I brought and fitted them a couple of weeks ago but had to remove them for my MOT (I couldn't wait to fit them afterwards) However I've now decided to go in a different direction exhaust wise and these are being sold to fund that. Fit is good, with no modification required, although the silencers do sit quite close to the heatsheilds (15mm) and I'd probably suggest the heatsheilds should be bent slightly upwards, prior to fitting the decats. They are a very decent quality finish. I'm looking for £110 posted via Parcelforce / Royal Mail. £100 collected from Northampton
rob d
as a complete newbie. What gains did you see using these ? Will they fit my 06 face lift ? How much grief and screaming to get on? Will I need a grown up?

Neilp
exhaust will be alot louder, more raspier, all in all sound better. I have ordered some last week but they havent arrived yet. The will not pass an mot in the uk unless you find a friendly mot tester especially if u use the same garage to get them fitted as the test. The standard cats are quite restrictive so for more hp and better sound these are probs the way to go. Due to the resonators the do take away the annoying metally rattle slightly. Loads of vids on youtube.
pptom
Thanks Neil, couldn't have put it better myself. All I can add is that they are quite straightforward to fit, each cat has 3 bolts at one end, 2 bolts at the other and 1 bolt in the middle holding it to a bracing bar, the only other thing to remove and refit is the Lambda sensor, so in essence 7 bolts per cat to remove and refit. Took me approx 2 hours to do both sides, I was takng my time and reckon I could do the swap in the future in approx 1hr. No specialist tools required, just a ratchet and some sockets, preferably a 14mm deep socket. Hell of a lot lighter than ther standard cats aswell. rob d
The lambda just plugs straight into the threaded port on the side ?
rob d
After fitting these, what's the next logical step ? Don't want to end up changing my mind as you did. What are you doing instead ? Do you take paypal ?
rob d
soooo tempted but reading the mod posts it seems they need a mod into the engine management system to block out the failure light when using decats. I'm way out of pocket miney at the moment having just bought the Z so not at the moment, sorry. Thanks for the advice though. Hope you get a quick sale

pptom
Still for sale, no swaps thanks. Ref - the management light - CEL spacers are avaliable from a trader on this forum for £20, they should stop the management light coming on. As for changing my mind - I do that all the time, I was going to save up for a Nismo, but I brought a new roadbike yesterday afternoon, so cash is a little low at the min.
