NIcad7
26-08-10 Fed up with rusty, overheating turbo cars Ive decided to give the N/A route a go and build it up myself.... :wack: Step in one lucky bid on a cheap 350Z! Picked this up accidentally (put a cheeky bid in on Ebay not expecting to win) for £5900 - '03 import with 30,000 miles/Km in fair nick! Well happy with it, everything is straight, rust free and running nice. It will be kept as a daily, so not planning to compete immediatly in it, just plenty of track/drift days  Drifts really well in standard trim, although can feel its weight (1430Kg). The back end is heavy and really wants to overtake the front when sideways! :smash: So have collected these parts already, Driftworks Suzuka seat with bride mounts Driftworks CS2's Kinetix Alignment arms set 07' (with the bulge) Carbon bonnet Japspeed Exhaust (cutting up to make single exit) De-cat pipes JWT Popcharger Defi BF Oil and water temp, and oil pressure gauges. and here is my shopping list come payday Rota SVN's 18x10 Carbon rear Hatch Intake plenum spacer Tomei 2 Way with 3.9 final drive and pending funds, exedy stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel. Will try and document the build as I go along, and will hopefully be at he pod on 15th September as long as I dont brake anything!
NIcad7
27-08-10 Right here we go, so fitted my suspension package this afternoon. All went on pretty straight forward, ran out of daylight to set it all up though. Just managed to get it all on the car... Standard set-up nice and clean - I like! Front CS2's and Kinetix A-arms; Rear CS2's and Kinetax camber and toe rods; Tomorrow, SLAMMING and de-cat pipes
NIcad7
29-08-10 Sorted! Praise the lowered... Now to fit the De-cats. Picking up the Carbon bonnet tomorrow. Going in for full alignment set-up Tuesday morning. Picking up Rota SVN's 18x10 all round Tuesday evening. Next!!
NIcad7
30-08-10 Seibon Bonnet fitted this morning and had a full alignment set up done Carbon rear hatch ordered along with Tomei Traxx 2 way and 3.9 final drive from Japan! Hopefully be here next week! Yummy!! Weather is good today so wil hopefully get these bloody de-cats on the car Picking up the Rota SVN's tonight
NIcad7
31-08-10 Finally fitted the de-cats this afternoon. Seems to have really free'd up some power, pulls nice and hard throughout the long gears now. Not a great picture, but shows 1 cat and 1 decat fitted as a comparison Next week the real sexy parts arrive - 2 way, 3.9 final drive, carbon rear hatch and plenum spacer - mmmmmmmmmmmm
NIcad7
08-09-10 Went and fitted the plenum spacer this morning. Real easy job and a quality bit of kit. This is aparently good for 15hp peak and plenty of under the curve power. Upper plenum removed; Lower Removed - Think I need ITB's Spacer in placer; and look what turned up whilst I was working All done, no vaccum leaks but havent driven it yet, went straight onto this; Have booked in the glass man to come and swap the glass across from the standard hatch Thats all folks!! NIcad7
09-09-10 Ok got rained off so might aswell update what ive done All four archers rolled flat! But no pics of that, pretty boring anyways Fitted the 25mm spacers all round and the Rota's. Soon as the paint turns up I will coat the fronts to match the rears. Rears - These are esentially an 18x10 et.5 and they are still being swallowed by the arches :smash: Gonna order up some 40mm badboys I reckon! Front are perfect for me, stick out about 15mm with the 25mm spacer so also 18x10 et.5 with the spacer Sitting pretty just before the rain came Not sure wether to go black or white with the wheels now? Still to do; Glass man coming tomorrow to swap the glass off the standard rear hatch Make single exit exhaust, waiting for gas to turn up for welder Looks like im going to weld up the standard diff so I can get to the Pod next wednesday as my diff and final drive from Japland wont arrive in time Paint front wheels

Me likey your old wheels too, what is to become of them? Jak

MattMe
What kind of condition are the wheels in? One of the rears looks a bit squared off... Otherthanthat - Nice project! I liked the white wheels actually, look a bit different being on a blade silver car. Black wheels look meaner and go with the carbon. You considered black roof or carbon wrap to finish off the look? And it's flippin' low!!
