PDean350
A little bit of back story - yesterday was a long time coming Me and my dad went on a trek up to Liverpool yesterday to pick up my 350Z. Travelled by train from Hereford at 8:30am to Liverpool, Waterloo and walked it the rest of the way to the owners address. He was a great guy and he had clearly looked after the car a lot as it was sat gleaming on the side of the road for us! He'd also kept all the documentation; MOT certificates, Nissan Health Check reports, Fully stamped service book which was all Nissan bar the last service (was a P1 so no biggie) by an Audi specialist. So we sorted out the cash (which we'd had to take along with us on the train due to Nationwide being useless and not allowing me to do a faster payment for the car's value ) and all the documents and got on our way! Weather was horrific once we got on the M57; thunder, lightning and it was raining sideways - at which point we discovered the car needs new wipers as it just moved the water about, rather than clear it, followed by a mad panic as the windows steamed up and we had to quickly figure out the AC controls to demist the windscreen. Bit of a newbie thing but we'd been on the road for all of 20 mins M6 was its usual self; congested and slow moving, however I did pass the time by counting the number of people in other cars who were staring at us We got home at 6:30pm after nearly 4 and a half hours on the road, the car is now filthy thanks to the weather and I can't drive it until Sunday when my insurance starts - but it really doesn't matter at all! A little bonus was the K2 exhaust that I did not realise was fitted, looked totally stock in the pictures and didn't sound any different from standard in the videos the previous owner sent me but sounded totally different in person - it was getting dark when I got home so didn't have time to check. Checked this evening to see the Japspeed logos embossed on the tips! So, here's the pictures of the car I've been counting the days to get I will post some more when it's actually clean! bronzee
The exterior looks tidy. I'd give that seat leather a going over with a good quality leather cleaner and conditioner. It needs a bit of TLC & on a regular basis give it more food to keep the leather supple.

PDean350
No love for the GT Badge then Going to get rid of it this weekend, I guess a hairdryer & fishing line the best way to remove it - any suggestions for the glue that stays on the car? Got some Auto glym leather cream and cleaner - i hear that turning the heated seats on for a while makes the treatment more effective - or is this rubbish lol Hopefully the weather will hold out for this weekend as I want to spend all day saturday giving it a proper clean. The engine bay needs a lot of attention, it's filthy:

Shuck
Got some Auto glym leather cream and cleaner - i hear that turning the heated seats on for a while makes the treatment more effective - or is this rubbish lol I'll get corrected quickly if I'm wrong but I would have thought the heated seats would dry the leather out and that is what you are trying to avoid doing? I do agree with other though, lose the GT badge

lrh
Very clean Z considering the mileage Not sure about the chrome on the grille though... You might want to look at removing that too
PDean350
Thanks for the kind words guys The bodywork does seem to be pretty much immaculate, suprising considering the mileage - only has a single stone chip (honest) on the bonnet and that's about it, although I'm sure I'll spot some marks tomorrow when it gets valeted. Kind of split on the Chrome grille to be honest, I kinda like it, but it's that chrome tape you buy from Halfords/Motorworld which just sticks on so it's easy enough to remove. I think when I do start modding it won't be the kind of look I'll be going for - I think like many I'll be going to carbon fibre route Practically out of money till the end of the month now, insurance is £630 for me via Churchill (25 yo, 6 years NCB, 0 points on my license) - my old Hyundai Coupe V6 cost me £690 oddly enough... Stubby is planned, along with LED rear lights, silver indicator bulbs up front and at some point when I have an overabundance of cash a Varis CF diffuser I've seen a few round here and they are
Ruddles
+1 Not a fan of 'yo bling' chrome strips! Surprised I haven't see you about yet, I pop into Hereford quite frequently as I only live near Ledbury!
PDean350
It's been parked on the drive since Tuesday as it's not insured until Sunday Gutted really, have been driving my Dad's old mondeo to work on temp cover and well, it really doesn't compare Giving it a damned good clean tomorrow and then out and about all day Sunday getting used to the car! Will look at losing the bling tomorrow

PDean350
Yeah just checked the forecast and I could be dodging the rain all day. Shame the garage is living a life as a shed at the moment, it's big enough for me to work around the car properly - I'm off go karting for a mates birthday on sunday as well, would be nice to have it all shiny for then! Might just have to give the interior a clean instead - we'll see - fingers crossed for sunshine
Ruddles
Best of luck karting! Would it be at Prestigne perchance? I'll be watching the F1..inside...out of the rain!
PDean350
Nah we're off to a track in Weobley - Herefordshire Raceway I think its called. Should be fun, looks like a good course and I've not been karting in years! I managed to avoid most of the rain today - although I had to stop before polishing as the heavens did eventually open Took the time to inspect the bodywork and it's not as good as I first thought, though is not unusual for the mileage, still looks good and many of the marks could be removed via paint correction; no dents or deep scratches which is the main thing. Unfortunately the wheels are worse than I realised and are in dire need of a refurb and I found two stone chips on the roof that are starting to rust. After payday I'm gonna get it booked in to have both these problems sorted and then the modding can begin Some new pics from today post-clean, pre-rain:

Will370z
You have done a nice job there, looks good. I will keep an eye out for it when I'm back in Hereford visiting the parents. I'll be the one waving from the Kuro roadster. Suprising how much fun you can having making a car gleam. And when clean try certainly get the attention of passer bys. Actually scrap that you still get looks even when the old zed is dirty lol.
PDean350
Thanks ever so much for the kind comments! Photography is a little bit of a hobby for me, although recently I've not had the time to actually get out there and take any pictures! The car developed a rattle on the dashboard on Monday, thankfully I managed to track it down to the odd, bluetooth connection sticking out of the center console. It looks like the one in the storage box in between the seats. Have no use for since I'm using the hidden one it so will rip it out at some point = problem solved! All in all the 1st week of driving has been very good so far, got to get the roof & wheels sorted ASAP as they annoy me everytime I see them. Oh and it's official, I suck at karting; finished 6 of 7 people, but it was my first time lol and I have the taste for more
