Hi folks,

There's only one catch with this event, you'll have to jump on a airplane to NZ :plane: to enjoy a late Spring :sun::dance::thumbs: event in New Zealand, just south of the largest city (Auckland).

This is an to definitely mark on your calendar!!

You may have heard word on the ground that there is a massive Nissan event on the 20/21st of November 2010 in New Zealand. 20th at Hampton Downs (NZ's newest race track), and the 21st at Fram Autolite Meremere (drag strip). This is open to all Nissan/Datsun cars, including Nissan powered vehicles, not only Zeds, it will be all the Nissan clubs. We're expecting some extremely high horse power vehicles to be part of this event, to create an extra bit of excitement. Some of the drag cars running about 1800-2000hp. :teeth:

This will be a substantially large event as Nissan NZ is heavily involved & there will be media coverage, with all sorts of cool things going on, including the racing both days. We are expecting large numbers of cars & people from around the country & overseas, given the exposure & scale of the event.

Does this sound like an event you or any of your friends might be interested in participating in, making the trek down under to NZ to enjoy the stunning scenery & the event??? There will also be a display area for Nissan/Datsun that are not racing. There will be something to keep everyone amused, as the website is being updated as components of the event are confirmed.

Feel free to ask questions about the event. Will direct anyone that needs help with accommodation to the best places to stay.

Hope some of you can make it along. :D:thumbs:

Cheers

This weekend, we had Nizfest. The first event of it's type here. It was all Nissan's & Datsun's. So anything from a Z of any type, we had 240z, 260z, 280z, 300zx Z31, 300zx Z31, 200ZR, Z32's, 350's, no 370 on display, they were racing. Then of course, Skylines of every type, including R35's racing, some amazing old Datto's. I've never seen some of them. Silvia's/200sx, 240sx, 180sx, Pulsar's, Primera's, Maximas, Exa's, a monster truck with a Nissan I think Navara body, Nissan & Datto's ute's (you guys call them trucks or small trucks). Really any car you can think of that's a Nissan/Datsun or powered.

Club displays, we won 2nd. A track day at Hampton Downs Race Track on the Saturday too, and even more, a drift display a large part of the day on the Skid Pan on the infield, plus more, so much more.

I didn't have time to take many photos, so here's some links to photos the others took.

The orange R35 you see is left hand drive, as it's Steve Millen's shipped here for the Targa Rally last month and Nizfest the weekend just gone.

Pretty tired, so will download some of the drift pics I took sometime this week.

Bit of spare time, so here's a few more pics from Nizfest. Bit late I know. :p:lol:

Fastest car on the day at Hampton Downs racetrack. Even faster than Steve Millen's ballistic R35 and some of the other heavily tuned R35's.

Robbie's drag car (sub 8 sec). Anyone that's into drag racing will probably know of Robbie. He's internationally known, and cars he's built go all over the globe.

First time I'd seen a yellow 370 in the flesh. Looked very smart.

Steve Millen's crazy R35.

Camera was a bit slow to take pics of the drift cars. But here's one of the S15's that was putting on quite a show.
