350zStephen
My Nismo exhaust is getting removed on Wednesday. I am wondering what is the best products to use to get the exhaust gleaming as the mid-pipe and exhaust tips have lost its shine. Many thanks

Husky
elbow grease this is how the exhaust started its life, bought off of lee, a UK with damage and not cared for. then i set about polishing it, ive listed the grades used. rough medium 400 600 800 1200 1500 megs metal polish then for fitting it took bloody ages the original bolts rounded off and needed ground off. one of the studs broke free from its weld the hangers were all wrong and all needed re aligned. getting the exhaust on and off the hangers was a pain in the arse anyway. all in i think it went back off and on about 10 times heres a bundle of pictures with it fitted thats your lot
350zStephen
That is some job Husky, I better book a day off work. I already have Autoglym metal polish, so i'll give it a bash with that. I'll also post up some before and afters.
Biggy
#00 grade wire wool and megs metal polish or autosol. Example: http://shop.autobritedirect.co.uk/steel ... 2050-p.asp I know Tim@Envy will be able to get hold of this
captain
That is some job Husky, I better book a day off work. I already have Autoglym metal polish, so i'll give it a bash with that. I'll also post up some before and afters. You will deffo need a pack of sandpaper as well. It's only £5. I used Meguiars and Autosol and found Meguiars better. I followed Husky's thread for my JDM and K1 exhausts and couldn't have done it without the paper.

Shuck
right, back to basics for me. When you say that you polished it did you use the various grades of sandpaper with the megs polish/autosol or did you just save the megs polish/autosol till the last step? At the moment mine has loads of soot on the inside of the tips, whats the best solution to get rid of that? I normally use an old alloy wheel cleaner and some megs gold class but that doesn't get rid of the ground in stuff.
Husky
wire wool is a nice simple way to give it a gentle clean followed by megs metal polish. that will get rid of some of your soot etc and give it a shine. if its bad then you can take it back a bit and work through the grades as i did. the condition of it dictates what grade you start at, the worse it is the lower the grade you go for. your matel polish is the last thing you do, it has very fine polishing bits in it to take the finest scratches out, it also has some form of caoting in it to make the shine last longer.
