Wes
I got a call from Chorley Nissan (Preston) today offering the same. I knew this was coming as when I was looking for my 350 a couple of months back, the Blackpool branch told me they expected to get more in as Nissan were about to release this offer. ATTAK Z
I've been to the local dealers (where I bought my 350 six years ago) 4 or 5 times since the 370 came out and they are simply not interested in selling one to me ............ I checked them out 2 weeks ago and they had a 40th anniversary that's been registered as a demo car parked outside .............. got the keys .... had a look inside the car ...... 'salesman' said 'what dya think' ..... I said ' mmm maybe I ought to have a drive sometime' ............... handed the keys back and drove off in my 350 no pressure then they are simply not interested ........ the manager just wants a 370 to p!ss about in .... and he's kerbed the nearside front big time .......... T0$$ER
martinmac
I guess this is on two levels then. Dealers will have to decide if they want to sell the 370z. Some dont want to know. Nissan on the other hand are being very proactive at the moment, hence their delivering a coupe and a roadster to Zedfest for us to teat drive. ATTAK Z
................. why do you think they are offering a £3K discount ? lack of sales ? overpriced ? worried ? all of the above ? PS I've had the £3K offer from Nissan in writing as well
martinmac
I guess its just the present economic climate really. The sales of everything have dropped at the moment. The new car market is unlikely to be unaffected and I would suspect that all the manufacturers have to be a little concerned now. Its certainly very nice to have Nissan UK supporting us though. rtbiscuit
nissan dealerships seem to have a real mix, but more often than not they never seem that helpful. i always found toyota were good, especially the chelmsford lookers branch, and i'm rediscovering the joys of honda the one in ipswich has been really good; bend over backwards style. although reading the forums they seem to have their mix of dealers as well. my guess is with the recent slump they have more numbers available than they planned. production figures would have been put in places a long time ago and now they need to shift them. by selling you lot new 370's they get the old stock of 350's which are now easier to shift due to the lower prices of them. their cost of buying has gone down due to the 350 price drop so they have more to play with hence they can afford the cut. philb1965
The 3k off is nothing new, orangewheels have been advertising this for some time, I bought my car through them. I think the dealers have always had the room to knock the money off just some would for volume of sales and some wouldn't give you a bean off (westway Nissan are one). The 0% deal is the new thing and it has to be due to lack of sales, which I hope continue, keeps the residuals up!
Carlin
Maybe phone them back and see what they can do for me . Not sure but as I still love the 350z

Wes
The guy that called from Preston said they were running an event this Sunday as they had a new 370z Roadster in and were offering 1 hour slots for existing 350z owners to come down and see what we think. I think they are open 12 - 4 and said the 2pm slot had gone, so offered me 12, 1 or 3pm. I'm not sure whether I really want one, but if it means I can get behind the wheel and give it a go I'll go down - I took the 3pm slot. For those in the North West that use the Chorley group, even Preston admitted that the Blackpool branch is their 350 / 370 specialist branch. So if you wanted to get some joy looking at one, they might be your best bet?

rtbiscuit
facelifts and new models tend to run on a 3 to 5 year cycle. 370 only really came out last year so probably another 2 years till a facelift.
