ChrisUUC
Ok im thinking of selling my Nismo Intakes ... Love the sound out of them but once I get my Fujitsubo Y pipe in and my HFC's or Test Pipes I want to put the cars original intake system back in as I probably wouldnt be able to hear them as much anyway So simple question whats the highest recomended brand to go for? **Also if anyone wants first dibs on the Nismos before I put them up for sale PM me sure ... ** Thanks, Chris

bhavin85
The Cosworth ones are fairly good from what ive read, Sarah (chilli red) has a whole bunch of them in stock 2 Narcotix - the OP has a HR engine so will have 2 intakes which wouldnt be able good to you...unless you fitted one and put the other one on your mantle as a show piece
M13KYF
K&N ones are good and you can get re oiling kits for them so no need to replace every year
ChrisUUC
I have seen the cosworth ones ... think they would be good ... M13KYF what do you have in yours? Stillen Gen 3's will be going in down the line when I start to see good reports and gains from others ...
M13KYF
K&N in my standard airbox got it form MrF at MJP along with the re oil kit
ChrisUUC
Might check it out ... are they all pretty much the same or do ones like Nismo offer better air flow etc?
M13KYF
dont think the nismo is any better, At least with the re oil kit you know with the K&N your using the like for like product
Mark@Abbey m/s
STOCK airboxes will beat any air filter system available. Mark
ChrisUUC
I think I was won over by the noise factor ... lol Although 1 speeding fine later I may revert abck to standard setup with a good upgraded panel filter ... Im liking the K&N think I might go with that ... Abeey any particular ones you recomend? Panel filter not intake.
Animal
I've got a HKS Super Hybrid panel filter, which was recommended to me (by Abbey M/S actually) - it's also a very cool green colour!
ChrisUUC
How much are they dude? If they recomend I might just go with that!
ZMANALEX
How much are they dude? If they recomend I might just go with that! Chris, I stock Cosworth, HKS and K&N. Alex.
ChrisUUC
How much for the HKS's as mentioned above? Or what would you class as the best ones?
bigbramble
HKS are better than k&n for flow but not filtration. Cosworth ones just look like paper filters to me, very restrictive next to HKS!
Aust350z
I use a rev-up airbox and Nismo panel filter. Doubt it does anything but makes me feel good knowing I tried
Animal
Me too - I can't discern any difference with the HKS but it's green!
Husky
Doubt it does anything but makes me feel good knowing I tried thats brilliant reasoning! i like it
AlexZ
I use the K&N aswell. It was fitted when I bought the car an every couple of weeks I just take it out and shake it lol...When the oil doesnt come off on your finger (wipe it across) just re-apply and your done. With past experiance with my Gen 7 Celica alot of the Jap filters (Blitz & TRD) are throw away and not re-useable. Plus do any of the other filtes offer the 100'000 mile warranty like K&N? andlid
used apexi and now cosworth, they look pretty similar to me both let in enough air I'd say and filter ok. when you ask the best do you mean filtering or power?
M13KYF
HKS are better than k&n for flow but not filtration. Cosworth ones just look like paper filters to me, very restrictive next to HKS! I used HKS before but think they K&N does a better filtration job which in the end is more important
