maz0
I tried some wheel cleaner from Halfrauds, I know I know... So I done the whole spray it and walk to the next wheel, spray it and walk to the next thing. When I got back to the beginning this was the state of the wheel, and I cant seem to rub it off, tried T-cut and now going at it with Meguiars metal polish, which seems to take the edge off it, but it looks like it's a deep burn. Any idea's I could try before having to take them to be refurbed?
Goldcrest Four
Looks more like water under the lacquer rather than stain - only one solution for that.
clarkie34
Looks like the acid in the wheel cleaner has eaten the laquer. You have nothing to lose now,try some autosol on them. I think you will need a refurb though.
Fieldy
I've had the same happen to my rear wheels when I gave the car a good cleaning after getting it home from the dealers. Realised it was the lacquer as the two front wheels are fine as the dealers had had these refurb'ed (for curbing damage from the previous owner) prior to delivering the car to me. Looks like I'm gonna have to shell out for the rears to be done now. Anybody know any good refurb guys in or around London??
Pimm
I have seen this a few times with these wheel cleaners NEVER USE THEM !! especially with chrome lips ect.. Warm soapy water and cold water rinse and then a polish will keep them in good order. I do not think you will get these back, will need a rufurb
clarkie34
Even with non acidic wheel cleaners, always do 1 wheel at a time don't leave it to soak.
