Dallan
Hi all, im new to this whole "jap" kinda thing so your truthful and honest opinion would be greatly appreciated.... Im thinking of selling my ITB'd VX220 and buying into a 350Z. I will only buy black with relatively low mialge (less than 60k). Id prefer to buy the UK model but can people please tell me the differences? Insurance /Servicing/Parts/Faults...etc? How easy are these to modify (performance wise)?? What should i look out for when buying a 350? What will i get for 10k?? Thanks - Dallan

martinmac
Hi and welcome to the forum. There are only a few common faults such as the clicking rear axle which can be fixed pretty cheaply. Performance wise you can get a remap but if you really want to go down the FI route it can be pretty expensive.
Husky
FI, whats the going rate now? 5k for supercharged? over 10k for turbo? not sure on mid/rear mounted turbo?

Dallan
What are these cars like for tyres then?? - Petrol?? Servicing etc??
martinmac
I have never worn any tyres out in 50k as I change my wheels all the time. Service costs are not bad at all. You can get 30 mpg plus if you take it easy or mid teens if you give it some stick.
Dallan
so there is a 9000 mile servicing advisory (ive read somewehre) - how much is this to do at a garage etc etc??
martinmac
Yes its 9k or 12 months. The cost really varies with where you live but there are plenty of good independants around to keep the costs down. Have a look in here. viewforum.php?f=
