Trev-the-Rev
An MR2 for £400 with 6 months warranty is worth buying anyway. Check your insurance to see if it refers to cars you actually own or just those you may drive and don't own.
SimonD
I thought that the third party insurance on other cars only applied if the car was already insured by another party?? I think you will also find that you can't be the owner of the car. Of course you could always buy the car, give it to your mother\father (who of course has a driving licence and no car currently), get the car insured and you put down as the named driver?? Stew
A car on the roads must be insured. The cover in your policy should only cover you to drive other insured cars. Insurace companies insure the car, not you. You can add aditional cars cheaply nowadays.
michaelwr
I'm gonna move to Admiral and also asked about keeping my Focus as a second car. Th cost to ensure the Focus was huge as they only allow your NCB to be used once. I argued I can only drive one car at a time but they won't budge. Not fair! JDM Performance
Some companies also "mirror" your NCB if you have a policy already. This is how I managed to get 6 years on both my FTO and my Integra DC5 (pre-350z)... on seperate policies... which was nice.... Have built up nice pile of no claims though!
