i know this button already exists, as seen below...

 

 

but would it be possible to add a button to take you to your last post on this thread so you can carry on from where you left off.

 

if there is already a way to do this please point it out to me and call a n00b for not knowing as that is all i will deserve

That button takes you to the first unread post on that thread. So it actually does already take you to where you left it

Doesn't that button take you to the last post made on the thread (which is not necessarily the first post you haven't read)?

If you click the button on the LHS of the topic title it'll take you to the last place you read.

Ahh yes - my mistake it does.

 

If you notice the one on the left hand side, (the animated version of that icon next to the thread title on the left) - click that and that takes you to the first unread post of the thread.

Hover over the icon for a description of where it takes you.

 

Looks like the same icon, but the one next to the thread title takes you to the first unread post, the one next to the last posters name takes you to that last post.
