shire350Z
Got a soft spot for marins, this is taking my fancy to it's a attack trail 6.9 with rock shox pikes on the front and a fox float RP23 on the rear, decent spec but has got LX trigger shifters (prefer sram) and a XT rear mech colou might not be to everyones taste but I like it
Chris`I
So are you looking more at pounding down hills than up and down? Gonna get Zoe to drive you to the top each time?
shire350Z
Can go up hills just as easy, lock the fronts and stiffen the rear easy enough just smept a good deal maybe I'm letting the looks get the better off me find me a good bike on eBay then Chris for under a grand it's sending me loopy with all the different makes and models there seems to be some decent specialized out there to just getting the right one
Chris`I
Dont have time to find myself goodies on ebay, let alone anyone else I'll have a quick peruse around over the weekend and see if I can find something. I'd say the Attack is quite weighty, I think over 30lbs, which probably isnt too bad for a 150mm travel bike, but depending on what you ride, you need to ask whether you need 150mm of travel. I have 120mm on the Stumpy and its more than enough, the advantage is it weighs in at a little under 27lbs which is nice and light for pedalling all over the place

shire350Z
Been looking at a specialised XC pro FSR is that the one below yours Chris?
Chris`I
Been looking at a specialised XC pro FSR is that the one below yours Chris? Yeah thats one down on the Stumpy, but there is some overlap in price terms. Base Stumpy is about the same price as the XC pro, but has a better frame. XC pro has slightly better spec components if they are both of the same year. What year are you looking at though?
shire350Z
2010 I'll pull some pics up there's a really nice trek fuel EX9 but it's abut on the minti side

shire350Z
That's the specialized And the trek
Chris`I
I'd have either TBH. I went in to the local Specialized bike shop with every intention to get a XC Pro, but they had a discounted Stumpjumper so ended up with that. You'll be happy with either of those
shire350Z
Lost out on XC but trek quite minti but so
AK350Z
Blimey, I don't look on this thread for a couple of days and there's a full page to get through! Nice pair of bikes there James, I rented a Fuel at Coed-y-Brenin last year and it was very nice. For your budget second hand, it should be quite hard to go wrong with the big names. What size frame are you looking for? Pinkbike is good for second hand bikes: http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/?region=5&countryid=
shire350Z
Probably a 17.5 Andrew maybe bit bigger, just had a look on that site looks a good one lot off old stuff on there mind I'll have to try filtering it tomorrow, still fancying that trek mind
AK350Z
A lone ride out this evening to do the Threlkeld loop. One of those near-perfect rides where the the trails are dry and rolling fast. Brilliant. Just like summer really.
bronzee
You certainly have plenty of cool places to play Andrew. Last pic looks very moody.

Amanda says she is looking forward to the early start when we come visit We did a little 17 mile loop around the downs of Hants today, cracking weather as you got too. AK350Z
Yep, me too! Getting a chronic itchy wallet for a new bike though...
Chris`I
I'm fairly happy with my HT, FSR and CX bike atm Looking at possibly getting Amanda a road bike too. I would say you could do with a full sus bike by now Andrew, but following you last time down those routes in the Lakes, I think you are quick enough on a HT
AK350Z
Got an early finish here today at Durham, brought the bike with me today so going to hamsterly forest to check out the trails there.
bronzee
Started my biker tan for the year! Lol, stunning. The lines between the shorts and the socks, sleeves and gloves, and best of all, the tanned finger tips and white hands.

I tend to wear full lengh gloves, so its limited only from my wrists to t-shirt line! Does look great though
