greasemonkey1234
Hi people, I've done something rather silly and have gone and warped my front discs as results need new ones. For track work I will heat treated discs to avoid further warping in future. Have people got any experience with and particular discs that they have found good? Right off to wash the Zed, many thanks in advance Many thanks, Al
Ekona
Assuming Brembo fit, I'm using the Performance Friction front discs with matching PF pads all round. Not cheap, but I don't think you'll find a better setup without going down the line of BBKs and such. I also use Endless brake fluid and Goodridge lines and it's a fine setup for track work. greasemonkey1234
Hi Ekona, I am running the brembo discs and calipers, but DS2500 pads, Motul RBF600 fluids and HEL lines. Do you know if the PF discs compatible with DS2500 pads? Many thanks, Al

Many thanks, Al DS2500's will work fine with the Performance Friction discs, but the PF pads are more track focussed so it depends on your usage. Worth looking at the Dixel discs and pads too. Neilp
How did you manage to warp them? Just so I can make sure I don't do it to mine.
greasemonkey1234
Hi Nelip I was at Bedford about 2 weeks ago then Snetterton yesterday. Bedford I feel did the damage as they were grumbly on the way home but I think Snetterton finished them off. I was only doing a warm up 5 hot laps and then a cool down lap, for my track sessions and didnt get any hint of fade with my set up. I now feel that the discs are the weak link
Neilp
Ah cheers mate I'll need to watch mines. What mileage is on yours? Is that your first time tracking your car?
greasemonkey1234
Hi Nealip, I have done 5 days with it so far. I used to race Formula Ford and thought the brakes could take the same punishment The car itself has done 40,000 miles but that is generally fairly relaxed and crusing to and from work. There is sometimes a bit of cheekyness.
ZMANALEX
Here you go mate. Performance Friction pads also available in different compounds. Give me a shout if I can help you further or if you simply just require some guidance. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=27438 viewtopic.php?f=38&t=31541 viewtopic.php?f=38&t=27437

I'm about to take mine on and was worrying incase I was gonna need new discs, my car has 20k on the discs and very rarely driven spirited so I should be ok for a bit. Cheers mate!
