AK350Z
Long weekend in Berlin with Fran and a few freinds, absolutlely fantastisch! Cheaper than we expected too, so didn't feel as guilty sampling all the most excellent german lagers (Didn't see any of the usual pesh anywhere ) and wheat beers. Most bum twitching moment was easily going to the Holocaust Memorial at 11pm. Not fear of mugging etc, but its an incredible atmospheric experience in the near dark, and I think at its most truely effective as a monument. Highly recomended, as it's just not the same in the daylight with tourists all over it. Also went to Spandau (as in Ballet) to see the citadel, and as recommended by Frans Dad who lived there when he was in the Army. Citadel was also showing the Germany - Serbia match and a music festival, so we watched the match there and played along with the atmosphere East Side Gallery; one of the layers of "The Wall", now painted with many murals by international artists Holocaust Memorial, in the daytime though. The Broken Church, and New Chapel Karl Marx Strasse Spandau Citadel, spot it on the map! maz0
Berlin is amazing eh?! I went last year. Stumbled into a few clubs one night and found them to be rather crap, came out at 1am, went to an Irish bar, a local Irishman told us we needed to go to the real clubs which the tourists don't go to, took a taxi 20 minute drive into an industrial area which looked like a building site and found what looked like a giant red bricked bread factory in the middle of no where and clubbed till 9am the next morning. Apparently it opens at 9pm on the Friday night and closes at 9am on the Morning, who needs sleep? Next night we went to a club in a sky scraper which had blacked out windows, danced till 6am when the windows were opened 20 stories high and watched the sunset with tiesto playing in the background. Amazing weekend I'll never forget, sight seeing like yourself was also fun
martinmac
Nice pics Andrew, you certainly seem to have the hang of that camera. Its looks like a great place to visit too. I have only been there once with some mates who were not very adventurous so we saw very little.

That giant club was probably Matrix, we walked past it as it's just near the east side gallery. Berliners are very good at turning industrial spaces into clubs! East is best, we labeled it "Crazy Town"
bronzee
The Holocaust Memorial is quite odd. Imagine the poor people that look out at it. The Berlin Dome has quite some history, after having a look. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin_Cathedral
