Millzzz
This maybe sucking eggs a little bit but I though it'd be worth sharing my experiences buying, & fitting of my new "eyelids" I've always loved eyelids on Z's. They were high up on my mods list but have always been put off at the fact of trying to find someone to paint them for me. On a club member's suggestion, I searched ebay for pre-painted ones. I found a seller on there called "led4you". They claimed the lids came in a choice of 6 'standard issue' colours. Le mans Sunset, Daytona Blue, Super Black, Chrome silver, Pikes Peak White (WOOOO!) & silverstone. This was concerning me a bit as to my knowledge, the above colour name's are different to all the Z colours I've heard of! Apart from PPW obviously hehe. I got an Email later on that day saying my item had been dispatched! Very impressed. Anyhoo, this afternoon it arrived (not bad considering they came from across the pond) & naturally I got stuck in straight away! Packaging - Pretty good. Both lids were individually wrapped in a plastic sleeve to stop them scratching or chipping against each other in transit. They were them placed in a packaging cardboard box which in turn was in a sturdier carboard box (pass the parcel much! lol). After I got through the layers (I was seriously like a 10yr old at christmas!) I calmed down to remember to make sure the colour was a match. I was highly impressed to see that it's nigh on perfect! They attach to the headlight by wrapping around the top of it & slightly down the insides. I can only presume this is so you get more surface contact to make it more secure . . . . which is always nice . . . . They're held in place by a healthy amount of rather strong double sided tape. Before removing the tape covering, I wanted to check the fitment. . . Happy with the fitment, I removed the tape & worked them into place. They were a bit funky to get it completely right & took a bit of titivating but I got there in the end. And viola! The end result! I don't know about you but I'm Suggestions, opinions & comments welcome I highly recommend this seller, & the product is brilliant too. The postage was quite a bit, but worth it imo. marzman
I love the AUT eyelids - they were on of the first mods on my zed. I used clear silicone to stick mine on though - i've read many stories about them lying off when you're on the motorway when they're just taped on. So £76. A bit costly, but ideal if you don't have time to get them painted. Cheers for the comments
