nixy
Car is in for a P3, MOT and new rear tyres. Just had to pay £120 insurance deposit and about to do my tax online now. I hate to wish summer away but I need payday already! Thank god for my flexible friend. I hope to god there's nothing wrong with it when they do the MOT. They lent me a qashqai - its quite a nice car. Very bouncy. Makes me realise just how much the zed sticks to the road going around corners. I've had 'sports' cars for so long I forget you can't chuck anything around the corners like I do!
Hamster
What tyres you getting Nixy? I'm about due some... Where do you get em fitted locally?
nixy
I was going to order Falken 452's as i've always been pleased with them - from Camskills. BUT my MOT will run out while i'm waiting on them and I'm in France from Sunday so its all got a bit complicated.......... The Nissan place at Malton have ordered me some but could only get the other falkens which aren't as good but are cheaper 912's i think they're called. Not a lot else i could do really. If you want a decent local fitter there's Winns in Pocklington but they don't do those tyres - you would have to buy your own and have them sent there i suppose. Zednick666
Feel your pain Nixy! I just had exactly the same; Insurance, Tax, MOT, Service & two rear rubbers. Plus my insurance had gone up to £816 this time thanks to 3 points I acquired in February All that and I haven't been able to drive the last 2 weeks, and for the next 5 weeks thanks to my arm Any way I had 912's on mine when I bought it, weren't bad (though mine were bald by the time I replaced them, terrible in wet), I'm on Bridgestone RE050's at the mine and can highly recomend them (from what I remember, it's been ages!) Chesterfield
I guess you are in the same boat as I was a few weeks back Martin. Clean forgot about it! They should make it mandatory that you get reminders for the MOT as you do tax and insurance.

terribleone
All that and I haven't been able to drive the last 2 weeks, and for the next 5 weeks thanks to my arm ) 7 weeks not driving the Z would save me about £350 in petrol...that'd pay for 2 Falken tyres, 6 months tax and an MOT

Mum's the only one in the family who can drive for the next month or so, given dad went in for a hernia correction today too... I asked if she'd give the zed a run, but she refuses stating 'it scares the life out of me'. bless her, she's only used to an MX-

Just be careful with them
nixy
its ok i'm not getting those now. My car passed its MOT with the bit of tread that's left so i'm ordering some 452's when i'm back off my hols - i've been happy with these before. I was really happy driving my car away thinking how well its doing for a 2003 car and hardly ever had a problem and sailed through every MOT. the other thing that made me laugh was how you get used to having a zed and it becoming 'normal'. When i got in that qashqai i realised just how quick my car is in comparison.

You definately get used to it if you don't drive anything else on a regular basis. When I recently took my parents to the airport I used my dad's Ford Escort 1.6 and then went back to the Zed when I got home and smiled the whole journey
Gervais
I've had two Qashqai's very high spec ones but i agree with the cornering Much better on juice though, and very comfy. tempted to take the Zed in to get anything i can think of done under warranty next time I have a long trip ahead of me
nixy
Yes it was a comfy car - I would definitely consider it as a second/winter car if i had the cash. Loads of room and felt quite safe - don't know which version it was but felt flat as a fart but then it would i suppose after a zed! When i dropped it off and got back in my car my clutch felt really stiff and i felt like i was sat on a skateboard! It is true though how you get complacent about things and take them for granted.
