My Arcade machine & Coffe table Jukebox

Hi all,

As i've already posted on here, i built an arcade machine last year... (see the build threads here:http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=29534&hilit=arcade and viewtopic.php?f=13&t=26206&hilit=arcade+blog )

Anyway, it has remained untouched until this weekend, when i finally got round to mounting a plexi-glass screen. This entailed moving the existing fascia back by 8inches and mounting everything in black felt. It doesnt show that well in the pics, but it now looks amazing... it is now of a quality that i could sell it. I just need to tidy up the inside of it, and neaten up the holes in the sides.

Now my second project that i started around 4 weeks ago is a coffee table with a PC in it, and 2 monitors mounted. I originally started this planning to build an arcade table, but the more i got into it, i decided to just keep it as a jukebox. I intend to put this on eBay when its finished (i still have to tidy up the cabling inside, and put some kind of bezel around the screens). Anyway, it looks pretty special, i think. Enjoy!

Looks ace Chris - you want to start knocking those out I am sure there is a big market for them!

So whats the next project then? :snack:

Cheers Stan... am hoping i finish the jukebox table to a standard good enough to sell. As for next project, im not sure. Hopefully more of there :D

Nice one mate, I have all the materials laying around to build an arcade, I just need to get round to it! is that running a mame front end?

Im using a front end called Maximus Arcade... it is very cool. You can get a trial online, or there is a crack available for it too. You configure which emulator .exe file to load for each console and point it at the games, and thats it! Set it to run on startup too, and configure the joystick buttons to shutdown the PC etc, and its all you need for a fully functioning arcade.

Can you build me a puggy?

What is a Puggy? I googled it to no avail...

http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/ <<<--- FREE frontend, looks amazing but can be tricky to set everything up right :headhurt::teeth:

i've been given a old acer pc complete with xp license and 15" lcd screen, gonna see how small i can make one

Yeh i've been on there for a while - fantastic site. Some people are so creative. If you're into diy builds, this is a great read... http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.p ... 9826.0;all

From experience though, the PC and monitor are the cheapest parts to get...simple tally of my arcade would be as follows:

Wood - £60

Perspex - £30

Controls - £50

Chrome trim - £25

Paint - £8

Glue - £12

Graphic - £5

Felt - £10

Monitor - £50

Misc cabling - £40

Coin Mech - £10

Tools (angle grinder, several drill bits, jigsaw blades, etc etc) £30

Total cost to build approx £350... :surrender::surrender:

Worth every penny though.

When they're totally finished, im gonna put the coffee table up at £400 + delivery, but im not sure i'll sell the arcade. If i did though i'd try it at £750....
