gear stick moving when on and off throttle

I know most cars seem to do this to some extent, but my gear lever seems to move forwards and back quite a bit when going on and off the throttle.

Also, at higher speeds, there's a bit of vibration through the gear stick.

Would there be a bush thats worn somewhere that's likely to cause these symptoms, or any mountings I can replace that would stop/reduce it (without transmitting too much vibration to the cabin)?

cheers

Vibration I'm pretty sure is normal, I know mine does it and if I remember right the original Evo reviewer of the Z affectionately named theirs the ginger tingler due to it.

Not sure on the play during throttle changes tho, not something I've noticed myself.

To quote EVO's 350Z buying guide:

"on cars up to 2005 the 'lever can vibrate noticeably (in fact during our 2003 Car of The Year test the Sunset Bronze car we had became known as 'the Ginger Tingler' for this very reason). It's not a fault - they were left this way to avoid damping out some of the feel. You soon get used to it."

To me it sounds like what you've got is quite typical for the car, think of it as a 'feature' rather than a problem and you'll be fine!
