CDR_UK
I'll be up for part 1 and 2, but Neuchatel is pretty boring - though i'd be passing by on my way back to geneva.
Removed
the Swiss stop is only an indication, again everything is changeable! If we went to Switzerland, where would you suggest, short of just heading for the Alps?
CDR_UK
It depends on what you're looking for, and how long you have. Purely for driving on some good roads - you might as well just head for the Alps. You could get to Lucerne for a bit of tourism, then Interlaken, and then pass by Gstaad, Verbier, Chamonix, and then through the Jura to Dijon (v nice roads - where clarkson took the veyron on top gear) and pick up the French motorway to get back to Calais. That would take a few days though. It's getting into a mission journey once you start going from Germany to Switzerland. Personally I'd recommend just taking a look around Germany. The city of Trier is 1 hour south from the ring - and very nice for tourism (the oldest city in Germany). If people were bringing their other halves - this is a good place to spend some time. Removed
ok guys, with the Italians we agreed to do this.... AT THE RING The Italian Admin contacted the German Z club too. So... coupling this with the Z Club's outing... here http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5780 would mean a start on the 8th June. We could spend the weekend with the Z Club guys in France, then drive leisurely towards Spa, then the Ring. We could have the meet with the other clubs there somewhere and generally have a great time. Then we could either: each go their own way or if there's interest, organise another couple of stops collectively. What do you think?

steve_b
If you are still using speed-ferries at Boulogne let me know. I could throw a free bar-b-q (you supply beer) as should be buying a house 30 mins from there. There would be a spare bedroom downstairs, up stairs is not done yet but has approx 400 sq/ft of open space (just boards but dry if its too wet for camping) there will be parking space and some space to put up a tent. Just offering as may be a good stop for those coming from up north and want a break before going onwards. Let me know the date you plan.

Removed
course Kev you are welcome! Steve I think I'd use speed-ferries as they are the cheapest by far, but to get the best prices it needs booking as early as possible. Only worry would be the getting in and out of the ferry, I might just come with the oem bumper. it'd be cool to meet at Boulogne! (I have euro maps on my tomtom too ) TheMinel Sarnie Lomoto ir_fuel (in Spa) Kev
Kev946
Have you got a date yet. I see June was mentioned. If it's July we could spend a day at the FIA GT Spa 24 hours. See http://www.fiagt.com/calendar.php Here's the celendar for Spa http://www.spa-francorchamps.be/en05/ca ... ndrier.php Le Mans is the other of course 16/17th June
CDR_UK
I will probably be up for it - would be great to meet up with some other Z enthusiasts and not need to speak in a foreign language . However it's quite far from Geneva, and so depends if there will be a track event at Spa or not - I've been to Spa enough times not to want to go again unless it's for a track day . Nurburgring is always interesting and I will come just for that - but only if it's open to the public on those days

See http://www.fiagt.com/calendar.php Here's the celendar for Spa http://www.spa-francorchamps.be/en05/ca ... ndrier.php Le Mans is the other of course 16/17th June well if we want to tag along with the older Zs they have the weekend together from the 8th June. So I'd suspect SPA would be mid week of the following week and possibly the Ring during the weekend of 16-17. Due to LeMans being on, maybe would be quiet? Checking if it's open to the public now "The provisional 2007 calendar is now on the official site, but is subject to change at this stage. In past years, the calendar hasn't gone online until the end of Feb, so personally I won't be making any bookings (except for Easter) until then." from this website http://nurburgring.org.uk/calendar.html looks like from the Ring website that in those dates there's a "Old timer Festival of the Nurburgring" whatever that might be, could be good for Lomoto
steve_b
LoT and autotrack have SPA booked out on the 6 and 7th of June. Removed
foer the first weekend with the Z Club, this is some of the things to do suggested by the resident english Z club member in france "We're staying here : http://www.loire-holidays.co.uk/index.htm (bar, resto. B-B-Q, piscine) Choose mobile homes or camping ! And we're gonna visit this : http://www.puydufou.com/fr/ on Saturday evening - the best night show in Europe ! And will probably kart a little here : http://www.bocaspeed.fr/accueil.php" for the Saturday night, Sean from the Z club is getting tickets already @ €23 pp. He'll need confirmation right about now http://www.zclub.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8148

Removed
it's ok we are not going to be at the Ring that weekend We'll be in the Loire valley with the Z club guys Anyway I booked holidays already, I think it's time to sort some ferries speedferries are going to be the cheapest most probably. Just worried about the ramps  Planning on driving down on friday 8th June, all the way to the Loire valley. It's about 5 hrs from the coast so if i get a ferry at about 10 or 11am , should be plenty of time. That would mean VERY early departure from the NW, but it's ok
steve_b
Val, just looked at the map and the ferry to St Malo or Caen may be better as it will be a long drive down. If you still go speedferries then my offer of a stop over still stands (near St. Omer), but its not a direct route, however would break the journey in half for those coming from up north. PS been on speed ferries with the Zed and my nose is longer then most, not really lower and it still fitted okay.
Removed
and I broke my speedracing front lip on the way back off it... and my Z wasn't lowered then can't take the Thurdsay off as I'll be on a course, so most prob will have to pass on your kind offer mate and do a 1 dayer drive
steve_b
Taken from a track club I am in, Euro trips - channel crossings/euro medical card E111 - Health Insurance Card If you visit main land Europe you will need a health insurance card to get non emergency medical treatment. Theres an on-line form that takes about 2 mins to complete and they send them out in a couple of days - so no reason not to have one!! https://www.ehic.org.uk/InternetPROD/home.do Channel crossings There are 3 real options:- Eurotunnel - to Calais (35 mins) If you are doing a same day or next day return Eurotunnel is by far the best option. Next or Same day returns are from £35 to £50 depending on how early you book and what time crossings you book. So if you're going out Sunday to return late Monday night ET is the best option. Longer returns can be booked for £120+ There is a frequent traveller option but if you want peak crossings it's a waste of time. http://www.eurotunnel.com Speed Ferries - to Boulonge sur Mer (50 mins) Speed Ferries offer return crossings from £38 return but it depends on when you book to get the best price. They also guarantee each way crossing for just £29 if you buy 10 at once - these are ideal for longer trips as you can have an unlimited return for just £58. SF go to Boulogne rather than Calais - this saves 20 mins if going to Abbeville, Le Mans or anywhere south of Calais but works the opposite way if going to Spa. The SF crossing only takes 50 mins, although the negative is they only have 1 boat so delays can stack up. http://www.speedferries.com Ferries to Calais & Dunkirk - P&O, Sea France & Norfolk Line There are plenty of crossing to head out any day and return when you wish from £50 (at time of posting). Crossings take longer than E/tunnel and Speed Ferries but do give you a chance to have a break and there are numerous crossing options. I find that the cheapest crossings for Ferries can be found on the following site:- ferrysavers.com - currently from £50 also direct with ferry companys http://www.poferries.com http://www.seafrance.com http://www.norfolkline.com/Norfolkline/ Telepeage if you're doing lots of Euro trips it's well worth signing up with Telepeage so that you can bypass the ques at peages as well as not have to lean over trying to hand a few euro's to the kiosk. For a 30 euro deposit and 2 euro's per month you get a device that you just flash at the barrier when going through peages and barrier opens - this also means you use the unmanned lanes with an orange T. you then just get debited from your UK bank account for the normal toll charges - theres no hidden costs.. https://www.sanef.com/fr/ecommerce/part ... Option=FTM click on un particulier on the above page. accepts uk debit card and address
