firebee
Hi All, i now own a skyline 350 gt which is pretty close to being a 350z in many ways so I guess its ok to post here. I have asked this same question on the skyline owners forum but I want to see what you guys think. In a nut shell my car , which is a 5AT, gets stuck in "P" quite often. When this happens I can hear a clicking noise from around the ignition cylinder when i depress the brake but no noise from down near the shifter. With a bit of prodding around in the shift lock it does let go, some times quick some time not. I did take it to a "specialist" who said he would need the car when it is stuck, trouble is I cant get it to him when it is stuck just wondering if any of you guys had experienced this and can offer any guidance. I am not mechanically gifted myself so it may well have to go to Nissan . many thanks firebee
marzman
Download the service manual which you can find on this site - there is a section for diagnosing all AT faults... it is very useful. If you do end up taking it to a garage, i would take a print out of the AT section with you.
Chris`I
Also try searching my350z.com and seeing if they have seen it before. Much bigger community in the States so they see things more often than us.
