yokomo Posted April 17, 2010 Share Posted April 17, 2010 thought it was in the lay up quality , the better ones are very close to optimium resin to carbon ratio others are just slopped togther and thus contain more resin and are thicker, the really light ones are made from pre preg. having seen the varis on BM's car it looks like a very well done wet lay posibly some pre preg hence it weighs naff all. theres a thread on my350z (grr still refing that site again !) with stock bonnet weight vs a carbon (not sure which) and the carbon was about the same maybe 1/4 pound heavyer but that was wiht lots of extra material for vents etc. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
