Ian
There is no noise limit for an MOT & aslong as you don't have decats fitted you will pas an MOT fine My car is retarded loud & I've never been stopped by the police

Roo
All cars after a certain year have to have catalysts fitted I believe. MOT emissions checks may not pick up they have been removed or it may ahem.. pass at certain garages...... not sure what VOSA do when they check. rtbiscuit
1994 was when cat's became compulsory but its measured on emmissions so unless they actually get under your car they aren't going to know.

Stew
In the MOT the car is raised to do various checks. They might well notice..... Oh and I think it was 92.
Dblock
either get a "freindly" Mot tester or just change the cats before MOT time.
