Harman350z
The government would make a c*ck up like that but never give a refund, would be good as it would pay for half a body kit.
fakeindian
my tax renewal reminder came through the post this morning and it states: 6 months £104.50 12 months £190.
mattbowey
not sure where i stand here... 05 jdm, only been in the country for about a year, i bought it 2 weeks ago and had to pay 435 for 12 months tax. is that right or should i have paid the lower amount? stupid tax, wouldn't mind paying it if they fixed the f'ing roads. nixy
From what that says from April 1 you should pay the lower amount. I guess if you got it taxed before April 1 then its just tough until next time and hope you only put six months on!
nixy
oops, just seen you but 12 on! If you taxed it after April 1st then contact DVLA and try to get some money back. If you go to the DVLA tax your car online website and click on vehicle enquiry it will tell you the liability for next time - would be interesting to know what it says. nixy
because they clearly thought "what the hell is a fairlady Z" at the dvla local office and just left certain bits of info they couldn't find on it off the form, like emmisions details etc........so mine is just classed differently due to their incompetence.... there's loads of us like that. nixy
depends when it was taxed. The lower rate came into effect FROM 1 April 2010. If you taxed it before then, no.

nixy
Agreed! Who the hell do you vote for at election time??? I have no clue. Just let me know which one will cut the price of car tax and petrol and they can have my vote!
Neilp
The Tories are cutting income tax but not heard about car tax. I wouldn't mind if they actually repaired the roads! I think they're using it to fund junkies and immigrants benefits!
nixy
I have to be wary of tories cos of all the cuts they are vowing to make in local govt - my area of work!
Neilp
No matter who we vote for they are still gonna rob us. I've been Reading into the lib dems and as much as I disagree with alot of bnp's views I'm starting to consider whether they are the only party that will actually make a difference! nixy
Think i'd rather not vote for anyone than vote for them!
Neilp
I know but if you do that then you loose your right to moan! It's all screwed as labour is the first shout and they've made an arse of it so far and Tories are only for the rich. It's a hard call, maybe we should start at discussion thread to keep this one on topic. I'm all for anyones who's cutting tax on wages, cars and petrol. penfolduk
depends when it was taxed. The lower rate came into effect FROM 1 April 2010. If you taxed it before then, no. got car in Febuary so i cant so does it mean next febuary i'll get car tax for £
nixy
yes but i'd also be interested to know if you can get the price difference for the second six months refunded because if you had only put six months tax on you'd have got the next six months at the lower rate. May be worth checking?
