Glenn1981
I just picked up a very nice 2nd hand Jap exhaust, for a very good price. Got it through a week or so ago and it is in very good condition, the guy reckoned it had only covered 2k, I had my doubts but on getting it, it does look like it has hardly been used. Anyway, the gaskets whilst ok, are a little brown. I am just wondering if I should buy some new gaskets for it before I take it to be fitted on Saturday, or if the ones on it will be okay. If I should get new ones, are they universal and where can I pick some up? Cheers I will post a vid of it when fitted, but a clue is that it will be quite loud
UNABASHED
You may as well swap the gaskets as they dont cost much at all. If you are having it fitted by someone they will probably have the gaskets in stock to use but it's always worthwhile calling them ahead of the time to check. UNABASHED
if you need different size that the garage doesnt stock I'm sure ZMANALEX has a thread with all the different gaskets that he supplies
Glenn1981
I thought it would probably be worthwhile. I am getting it fitted at a friends garage, he only does MOTs and small jobs, so I doubt he will have gaskets in stock. Can I just grab some at Halfrauds or somewhere? Are they universal or are there any special ones I need for this particular exhaust?

Chris`I
Get them from Alex. Will be the right size and likely cheaper than Halfords

Glenn1981
Right, I have been PMing Alex today and as much help as the good man has been, we couldnt get to the bottom of what gaskets I have, so I have measured with pics here so that Alex and you guys can help. Are these just OEM gaskets? I need 3 of the smaller ones for the extra join in the Y-Pipe and the cans and I need 1 large one for the join of the Y to the Mid section. Gaskets side by side Large Gasket for Y to Mid section join Small Gaskets for extra Y join and rear tail pipes Can you guys give me a definative answer on what these are. Also I need them for Saturday 9am, which will be tight for Alex to get them to me from Scotland, what with Good Friday. So anyone know where I can get them in North London \ Herts or nearby? Can I just go to a Nissan Dealer. Thanks Guys and Thanks Alex for your help so far, I wish you lived up the road!
Glenn1981
This is the system that is going on if that helps, Buddy Club Pro Spec (hope you dont mind me using the pic Pete)
Glenn1981
Rather then measure the gaskets, I have measured the pipes on the exhaust, as per Alex's instruction Large Pipe join of Y to Mid Pipe looks like just over 70mm hole Small pipe join for tail pipes and extra Y join, looks to be 60mm And here is the Y to Cat joins, as you can see the gasket is good as new
UNABASHED
have you tried a local exhaust place? my local place has hundreds of the buggers and I'm sure they would sort you out.
Glenn1981
I have been all around today, to Nissan and various Exhaust suppliers and wholesalers and I have come up with nothing! One place said that I could use the old gaskets with some loctite 5920 copper based and that would do the rick, so I may give that a go. janz70
2.5 from the Cats to the Y is standard gasket I believe and the Y to the mid looks like a standard 3" does the Y to cat good gasket fit on any of the other joints? I got an APS 2.5" true dual and the bloomin thing has 4 x 4 bolts square joints - no chance of getting these so will have to resort to High Temp copper RTV like this (recomended by exhaust specialist)
