Shuck
Washing up liquid! Being serious though, isn't clay meant to strip off the previous layers of wax?
Stew
Washing up liquid will do it. Any concentrated shampoo with a pile of shampoo in it will work too.
Chris`I
Fairy Liquid does the job great! Makes the paint feel horrible when it has no protection on it, make sure you definately allow time to wax it afterwards, dont leave it with no protection
R35LEE
Fairy Liquid
Ekona
I wouldn't put Fairy Liquid anywhere near a car of mine, far too aggressive. Do it properly with a decent clay + lube, and then build up your layers.
clarkie34
Fairy Liquid will strip the wax but will also remove the oils in your paint.Use a fine grade clay bar and some quick detailer.
lilsheepshagga_turbo
Bilt hamber surfex hd 1:4 or 1:3 solution will strip your wax off + remove grease and traffic film -ho
srobrien
Tesco's own brand APC for £1 per litre, diluted 1:10 with water in the snowlance, does a super job
H5
CG Citrus Wash n Gloss has two dilution ratios - one to strip, one to clean......
Rubber
Washing up liquid will do it. Any concentrated shampoo with a pile of shampoo in it will work too. Does this mean that even using a solution of Meguiars NXT Shampoo that is too concentrated will start to strip my wax layer off the car? I normally put a big bollop of the stuff in my ucket without measuing it Chris

janz70
so washing up liquid seems to be the order of the day - so how long after stripping should I leave it PS got some Bilt hamber to put on
H5
How long before what? You strip it, clay it, polish it, seal it, wax it....... All asap
Chris`I
How long before what? You strip it, clay it, polish it, seal it, wax it....... All asap +1 - do not clay and polish unless you intend to wax/seal it there and there or keep in it in a garage til you do. Polishing removes any protection on the paint, it gets you back to bare paint, clean ready to seal/wax, do not leave it bare to the elements
