maz0
Nice, I really like 20's on the Zed. They seem to really fill the arches well. Good Job.
Glennc91
oh i see, thanks for the info on the rules of offset, you dont ask then you'll never know i bought them off a friend of mine who runs Vogue Autodesign. very swanky wheels for even swankier motors. i called a few of the wheel distributors and they all told me that i couldnt get any wheels for the 350Z GT4. as you can tell i am no mechanic, so i took the word of someone who knew what they were talking about. until i spoke to nick from vogue. he said the 20's would go straight on if they were wider at the back, which after consulting you lot, turned out to be true. so unfortunately, theres no link to any websites to tell you the offset im afraid. take a look at some of their motors though if you get a sec, they specialise in 3-peice wheels if that makes any sense to you. The GT4 wheels are sat in my garage, just waiting til i have the cash spare to get them refurbed mate, so theyre very much available
ug45cwb
Love everything on this car! Blended skirts and spats look great, as do the wheels. Also think the black spoiler and lip really suit the yellow. Major from me I'm thinking black door handles would look great on this Z? Pimm
Your new wheels look fantastic I would leave your GT4 alloys in the garage and NOT sell them. When you come to get rid of the car the 20" will fetch good money seperatley and you car will retain the original look and you could also use them as winter alloy's. Glennc91
OK after a few days of feedback from this thread, i feel like i have been schooled in the way of the wheel. I literally hadn't noticed the wheels hiding away in the front arches, so after a quick look and a touch of research on the Z-store, I will be ordering the Eibach system4 20mm spacers for the front. They should coax the wheels out to match the rears, so they both sit flush in the arches. The rears seem to be fine as they are. Then, as a few of you are keen to point out it now needs lowering, i will be oredering the Eibach springs Pro-Kit. 30mm drop front and back. I am kind of worried about scrubbing, and smashing my front lip on speed bumps, so if anyone has a similar sort of set up i would be interested to know if theres any problems? won't be this week as the inconsiderate wench of a girlfriend decided to have a birthday.... but it will be soon, pictures to follow! I have a similar setup, very little ground clearance, you can just about get the toe of your trainer under the front bumper! No issues with arches rubbing. I do plan my routes to avoid speed bumps if possible though.
Glennc91
Im not sure how to feel about that last post there Stew theres no avoiding some of the ones round my way! if you had to go over a few of those nasty, short, yellow and black rubber style speed bumps, you know the buggers im talking about, would you regret your set up? Welcome Glenn. Very good choice of wheels. Always liked them black on an R34 GTR but is suits the zed very nicely too Regarding spacers and lowering, the Eiback kit is the best spacer/spring kit out there. It claims up to 30mm drop but in real life you get 20-25mm so you will be fine and always need to negotiate bumps carefully anyway The system 4 spacers is you want system and i am pretty sure the ET is 35 both axles which is not brilliant You need at least 20mm spacers in both front and rear But the only way to tell for sure what ET they have is to look in the inside of the wheel spoke, it is usually stamped there also with the wheel size Or if lazy then measure the wheel arch tyre gap and that gives you how much leeway you have give or take a little more to account for negative camber when the car is lowered. Glennc91
The rear wheels come all the way to the edge of the arch though? if i put spacers on at the back they will come outside the arches and i thought that was illegal?
GT4 Zed
The rear wheels come all the way to the edge of the arch though? if i put spacers on at the back they will come outside the arches and i thought that was illegal? When you lower it the top will sink in side due to increase in negative camber and this also happens dynamically when vehicle is mobile so it will not rub or be illegal It maybe a case of using a 15mm spacer then but the only way to know is if you look up th ET stamped inside the wheel i think it was 35mm but the wheel was 19" on further recollection
