AK350Z Posted March 12, 2010 Share Posted March 12, 2010 Road tax rates for Band G and above go up from April 1 and a new "showroom tax"– a special first-year rate of VED for bigger-engined vehicles in Bands H and above – begins at the same time. The VED rate for vehicles in the highest band (M) will, for instance, go from the current level of £405 to £950 for the first 12 months of the car's life. This was announced in the 2008 Budget. Basically if your Zed was registered after March 2006 then you're paying a little over £400 a year. If your car was registered before March 2006 then you're paying £245 a year.
